"If you are thinking about purchasing a fender 57/62 neck/middle pickup, this might help."
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
I recently bought two of these pickups to replace the neck and middle in my 50s reissue strat. Before I bought them I thought there was something wrong with my amp. I play a '72 fender twin reverb amp. It turns out the pickups were just horrible. After finally installing these pickups with the addition of all new pots and 5-way switch, it was time to plug up and test em out. WOW!!! There is definately nothing wrong with the amp. These pickups sound very fat and have a lot of body to them. I have a dimarzio hs-2 in the bridge postion which works really good when selected with the middle pickup. I was blown away by the sound quality of these pickups. It was exactly the tone I was looking for. The highs are not to twangy and the lows are full but not muddy at all. They are fantastic. I have not tried them with distortion yet but I usually only use the bridge pickup for distortion anyway.
Feature:
Don't really know how to rate features. It is a pickup.
Quality:
It is too early to tell because I have only had them installed for about 2 days.
Manufacturer Support:
I don't know about the support part of it. I had a fender 54 pickup one time that completely crapped out on me and never bothered even calling fender to ask what I can do about it.
Value:
$38.00 for the pickup I just described. That should should say it all. I will not say how much I would pay for the pickups because I want them to stay at $38 dollars in case I decide to put them In my other fender strat.
Overall:
These pickups were only $38.00 each. That is a really good value considering the sound that they produce. I would recommend these to anyone whether on a tight budget or not. If you are looking for a very clean, clear, fat strat sound than this product is for you!
