"My studio life is easier and more comfortable now."
Feature:
Its so nice to have a guitar on my lap and not have to touch a mouse much. Recording vocals used to be a click, run to the mic, do vox... scenario - now the run to the mic is gone. I still need to figure out if I can create a command to select an audio input on an audio track - thats my only gripe right now. I have a FW interface and before I record audio, I must set the input with the mouse.
Quality:
I've had it since Xmas and it's now Valentine's Day - the batteries still have tons of life left after continued use. Its plastic, but feels sturdy. I like the buttons and the jog wheel is well built. The only trouble the unit has given me is that it jammed up when I impatiently pressed too many buttons at once. Aside from that, its aces.
Value:
I'm really happy with it. If it were stolen, I'd buy another... after selling the theif's organs on the black market.
Desirability:
I wanted it bad before I got it. Now I have zero regrets. It improves the studio workflow greatly.
Sound:
Doesn't apply, no onboard sounds. It doesn't make any noise in the DAWwhile switching around and such, so I guess thats a 10.
Ease of Use:
Installed easy, was recognized instantly in Acid and FL Studio. It does everything it says.
Support:
Haven't needed support for the Tranzport yet, but FD was nice enough to email me back very quickly to let me know that the Alphatrack didn't have Acid support yet - which made me choose the Tranzport.
Overall:
Get a Tranzport - get away from the keyboard and mouse. Sit with a guitar in your lap, a mic in front of you, and this baby on another lil mic stand - you're all set.
