"The Ultimate Glam Rock machine"
Sound:
It sounds huge warm and sustainy, like a Les Paul should. Lots of midrange and sustain as opposed to treble, but it cuts through well. I play lots of heavy rock and this black beauty rules.
Feature:
It came with a nice case, thats all you really need anyway. I like the way the controls are set, so that each pickup has a separate tone and volume knob. perfect for the kill switch effects.
Quality:
Normally, Gibsons kind of are inconsistent, but my 1989 black beauty is built as well as any guitar ive ever played. All of the cosmetic flaws are from 8 years of me owning it and playing it a lot. still in very good shape. i always use a backup, but tend to use other guitars for traveling. this thing is irreplacable. never goes out of tune.
Manufacturer Support:
ive dealt with them many times and they've been good.
Value:
It's too expensive to buy new, but my guitar has given me 8 years of enjoyment and this paul will give me many more years of that. ill never sell it, it's impossible to replace. The ultiimate glam rock machine indeed.
The Wow Factor:
Ultimate glam rock machine. some think its gaudy, i think it's a sexy beast of a guitar. and yes, it sounds awesome.
Overall:
it's irreplacable, but i use other guitars for variety and to save wear and tear on my black beauty.
