"You get what you pay for...and this gives you a little more"
Feature:The Chinese made Icon B has the control panel backwards but all the switches and buttons function...for the price this is an amazing instrument
Quality:
Finish is rough in spots...I'm just thnkful the major bugs have been worked out...I am really happy with the bass
Value:
Yes
Desirability:
Beatle fans who have musical aspirations will love it
Sound:
rich deep tone...more precise than the other knock-offs...especially the rogue which is heavier and more solid. The Icon B wieghs less and has more 'space' between the front and back giving it a more pronounced Hofner sound...play with an Ampeg SVT 200T head and an BHLF410 cabinet and the bottom end is quite pronounced. Staple pick-ups outweigh any of the other imitation models...it is longer than most of the other similar bass models..closer to the Hofner size
Ease of Use:
Action was set too high from the factory...lowering it was simple and the playability is quite easy
Support:
N/A
Overall:
I see another Hofner upgrade model...for twice the price and I'm willing to bet it plays exactly the same as this model...unless you're getting the real thing...stay in the $300 price range and you'll be happy

"I Love This Bass"
Feature:I wish they made a 5 string version. The workmanship is a 7 but the electronics could be better. I was getting sone noise from the pickup selection switches but I solved that by replacing it with the more expense modeles switch, very easy changout. There is nor much to compain about concidering how much I paid for it. Just handle with care like you would any hollow body bass and you'll be fine.
Quality:
Hey it's a $350 bass but still it looks and feels like a much more expense bass. Since making the changes I mentioned it has never given me any trouble at all. I love it.
Value:
Very good Value but the should throw in a gig bag.
Desirability:
The girls love this bass.
Sound:
With todays procesers you can get as good a sound from this modlen as with the most costly version. It's playablity is fantastic and you won't get shoulder fatuge for this light and comfortable bass. I have compared it to several other basses I own and it is my favorite. It has deep bottom end and crisp high when moving up the neck. For the money you can't beat it. I've been playing for many, many years so I kow what I'm talking about.
Ease of Use:
Plays well after adjustment to the bridge level and intonation, and replacing the strings. Anyone can figure out the feature after 1\2 hr of playing with it. After the switch changeout the sounds from this bass were excellent.
Support:
Sale person I dealt with didn't have much experience in basses. But overal the service was as good as anywhere.
Overall:
Ask me after a couple more years. Right now it's my favorite bass, no shoulder fatue and great sound. We'll see hoe it hold up.
