"Unleash the performer in you!"
Feature:The bending. The size and heft of the instrument. It's just pure comfort. The plastic case, well, I use the harmonica so much I just tossed the case.
Quality:
Mine have lasted years but you still have to watch out for them. I blasted a reed in one, which was just the result of my own stupidity. They are built very solidly but they are still musical instruments and better taken care of.
Value:
This is worth every penny. In fact, they could charge more.
Desirability:
If you play it right people will follow you home. It is really good.
Sound:
I was astonished that the previous rating for this instrument was a 1. I rate it 10! I've had XBs for years and would own nothing else. I use them with a neck holder and can get perfectly crazy, whiney, explosive tones I've never gotten out of any other harp. And since I play guitar with it,I have the confidence that I can get the sounds I want just with my mouth, when using my hands is impossible. In fact a lot of the sounds sound like ones you can only get using your hands. This is one GREAT harmonica. A real music lover will realize that the $90 tag is worth it. You get $90 worth of harp and more. It's like all your life playing a guitar with three frets and two strings, and then somebody hands you 14 frets and six strings. Suddenly you can make the music you want, make the sounds you've dreamed of making. This harp is not for the timid. It demands that you give it all you've got. If you are shy, playing it will get you out of that and into performance. Yay Hohner!
Ease of Use:
Not "easy" but like I said above, you have to give it all you've got. By this I do not mean you must have terrific technique. I mean heart, and the instrument responds soo beautifully!
Support:
Never needed any.
Overall:
XB is the only harp I'd want. I got another Hohner of another type and I blew it apart in days. My first XB is about 6 years old.
