"Too noisy for recording purposes."
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
I purchased this cable (2 meter version)original to hook up my KorgD16 recording system into a mixer to record 8 tracks live. Later I tried using it as a recording feed between a Raoland TDW-10 drum 'brain' and an Aardvark Q10 computer sound interface. These cable are quite noisy and it turned out I couldn't use the snake. I compared one channel on this cable to a Monster Bass cable, a custom cable made with Canare cable and Switchcraft plugs, a custom cable made with ProCO cable and Switchcraft plugs, and 4 or 5 others lying around.
This was the noisiest cable except for one very old $8 guitar cable from Mars. I also made a new 4-channel snake using Belden 1217B and it was about as quiet as the Canare and Monster cable.
My version of the cable was purchased ~Nov 2001. The outside of the snake cable is marked as "TTL(r) 8CXS(A)"
Feature:
8 channels, molded 1/4" TR plugs
Quality:
I already commented on the noise the cable gives of. Also, the cables seem a bit microphonic (noise increases as you move them around). The 1/4 jacks are molded on (soldering repairs not possible) and the joints are noisy when wiggled.
Manufacturer Support:
Support for a cable?
Value:
Hey, its only $25 so I guess the value is OK. Just don't expect very much for $25. But for about $50 you can make yourself a great cable.
The Wow Factor:
Looks nice, brightly colored,.
