Sound:I got a 3 pack of these strings when I bought my Hartke rig. 5500 head and 4.5xl cab. the strings sound suprisingly good. they are bright but not so bright that they are noisey i.e finger noise & that "thudding" sound during slap style. These strings sound rich and "piano like" get a really good slap sound. I was using DL LoRiders at $37 for a 5 string set....the hartkes run less than $10! don't get me wrong I'm not cheap...I was gladly shelling out the $37 for DLs but if I can save $27 and get the same sound...why the hell not! however, I did notice that the B string seems to be a plain nickel string. it doesn't have the piano twang as the EADG. But, thats where I got most of the slap thudding noise with the DLs...so it works out .
