"Almost perfect"
Sound:
Very good guitar all around, and affordable. I payed $340. The sound is perfect for my playing style, which is low end and dark riffs. My main tuning is A#D#G#C#F#A#D#, somewhere in between Lacuna Coil and Korn. The punch on this thing is awesome, very bassey. The fret board is big and comfortable, the body of the guitar looks great, NEVER gets smugges and always looks sharp. The tuning machines are placed 4 on one side, 3 on the other, which I feel is the best way. It sounds awesome with my band, and by itself, and makes any crappy cassette player sound good when you record onto it. Soundwise, its flawless. Much better than the RG series 6-string.
Feature:
No flaws, everything any good guitarist who doesn't hide behind effect pedals needs is right here. Except for the whammy bar, but you can always bend the notes.
Quality:
As a whole, this is what holds it back from a perfect 10. While not unbearable, there is a few minor probelms I've had. I should start by saying that the finish on the guitar is absolutely awesome and it shows no dust, dirt, or smugges. That being said, here are the flaws in the design.
About 2 weeks after I bought it, the jac loosened and the guitar wasn't sending the sound to the amp. I got it fixed, and it did it in a week again. I had it fixed again and it feels much better and has been fine for about 3 weeks now. I think the first guy didn't do it right. Anyway, about a month after I got it, the strap holder popped out and I had to use sodder and toothpicks to secure it again. The last thing is in the actual playing while standing, the strap holder allows the strap to move up and down on you a little too easy, sometimes you have to put slight pressure with your arm to keep it in place. Other that those, nothing else.
Manufacturer Support:
Yes, Ibanez isn't my favorite manufacturer. I think they are hit or miss, but this was definitely a hit. Unlike the RG series 6-string Ibanez.
Value:
Yes it is.
The Wow Factor:
Oh hell yeah. It looks awesome, no denying that. And again, the finish on the body, pure awesomeness. It feels awesome to play, I would go as far as saying that it is better than the Ibanez K-7 by Munky and Head.
Overall:
It suits me just fine for my band, shows, studio work, and alone. I will be using it as my primary guitar until I cannot anymore. Out of my five guitars, it is second only to my PRS Tremonti SE.
