    "AN EXCELLENT GUITAR!!!!"

    Sound:
AMAZING sound for an inexpensive guitar. The sound leaves the Squier Strat in the dust. Great for Heavy Metal and Punk
    Feature:
The pickups are awesome (three of them) the 2 humbuckers just deepen the sound so much! The parts are real sturdy except the jack (where u plug the cord in) the nut gets loose in there all the time. but overall its great!
    Quality:
Paints held up, no scratches, the wood is really good quality. Definately band material.
    Manufacturer Support:
Haven't had to deal with them (thank God)

    Best guitar for the price.

"Get it then Hot Rod it! You wont be disappointed!"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
The 5 rating is for the stock ibanez pickups. The stock Powersound pickups were too muddy with no sustain and top end so I replaced both with a Gibson 496R in the neck and a 500T in the bridge. OH MY GOD! What a difference that made. Crunchy , sustain filled on all amp settings including clean. sounds like a Les paul classic for about $350 as opposed to $1800. The tone knobs dont really start to affect the sound until you turn it past 4 but thats ok, sounds best with this pickup combo at about 7 or 8. The 5 rating refers to the stock pickups. I've heard worse stockers on a $200 axe.
    Feature:
Came with a decent 1/4 inch cable. I use it to connect pedals together. guitar itself has 4 knobs (2 volume 2 tone) and a 3 way pickup selector. somewhat neck heavy but no big deal. Changed out the strap buttons with strap locks
    Quality:
Build quality is good. Agathis body gives a nice full tone. best fret work ive seen in this price , no jagged edges. Beautiful finish, polishes well. Only complaint is input jack comes loose but thats easy fixed with thread-lok. I've jammed with friends but have yet to use it on a gig. I feel it would do excellent considering how its used at home. But i wouldnt gig without a cheap beater as a back up.
    Manufacturer Support:
I havent had to deal with ibanez ever. I began modifying this axe the week i got it, so the warranty never came into play.
    Value:
Stock, this is a good starter axe. With the right mods, its comparable to les paul classic. At 200 I think it's a steal and a great foundation for a guitar than can grow with your needs.
    The Wow Factor:
I've wanted this guitar for 4 years but could never get the money together (i was very poor for 4 years). Now that i have it and play it every day for hours, I consider it well worth the wait.
    Overall:
I love her now that its been hotrodded. She gives me "that" sound which ive been after for years. she left something to be desired when i first got it but now she's a total flamethrower. If anything tragic happened to her Id have to replace with a les paul classic. To my ears thats the only comparison.

"GREAT GUITAR GOOD PRICE >>>>>GREAT DEAL!!!!"

    Sound:
I love the GAX 70 i have owned it for over two years i love the rosewood neck and the sound of the guitar ....the only problem i have with the guitar is that it is a larger body guitar. It is rather heavy but otherwise an A++++ guitar!!!
    Feature:
Humbuckers are excellent but the volume controls are a little unstylish. and the chord jack is a little unsturdy
    Ease of Use:
as i said it is a little bulcky....but its kind of easy
    Quality:
it is a well made solid body guitar and i would recommend it to a beginner or intermediate player
    Manufacturer Support:
NEVER HAD TO CONTACT IBANEZ FOR ASSISTANCE!!!! GREAT GUITAR
    Value:
    Good pprice for IBANEZ name!
    The Wow Factor:
I would rather have a smaller body guitar

"Your first girl should be special. This one's no skank."

    Sound:
Overall, it's got a relatively clean sound, but there are some glitchy issues with the pickup selector switch that mar the sound a bit. For what it is, it's not bad and with an upgrade in the pickup department, it might really be great sounding.
    Feature:
Mine came pretty much as-is. I like the tone/volume setup but the pickup selector switch is flaky. The design of the bridge makes changes to the setup easy and painless (you will probably have to tweak the setup).
    Quality:
Like I said, the pickup selector switch is weak. From the factory, the setup was not good. I spent quite a bit of time tweaking it to get it right. Fortunately, the bridge is very adjustable in many dimensions. Additionally, as others have mentioned, the 1/4" jack was perpetually loosening. I used a drop of thred-lok and I've never had a problem since. Everyone complains about this, Ibanez should pay attention.
    Manufacturer Support:
don't know, never had to deal with them.
    Value:
for the price, OH YEAH, you won't touch this at the same price from anyone else. Squires and other similar cheapo rigs just sound bad next to this thing.
    The Wow Factor:
The transparent red finish is really beautiful in a candy apple red classic corvette sort of way. It has definite sex appeal and if it were a girl I'd love to have it hanging on my arm.
    Overall:
As I gain skill, I can see the limitations of the guitar. I've been playing for about four years now and will probably need to go beyond what this thing has to offer. No regrets, just time for a more mature love interest.

    "A Great Purchase!"

    Sound:
This axe sounds clear as a bell. Hardly any buz at all, no matter how aggressive I get.
    Feature:
Excellent pickups. Convenient volume knobs. Overall, simple elegance.
    Quality:
The pickup selector toggle seems a bit unsteady in its mounting, but everything else is rock solid and smooth as silk (i.e. frets...).

"The Ibanez GAX-70 is the best deal, on a non costumized guitar, that I have ever seen in my 21 years experience. It is giving"

    Sound:
I am running this guitar first into a stereo delay, then a stereo chourus. From there the main channel feeds a Crate GFX-65 with DSP the stereo channel feeds an Ibanez troubadour-25. Both are miked into a Baringer Eurodesk, wich feeds a Tri-amped liquid cooled Carvin sound system. I bought the guitar to prove to a student that it doesn't matter how much your instrument cost. What matters is what you do with it. Every guitar has it's own state of exsistance, it is up to you to find the proper context for it to reside in. This guitar does it all. It suprised the hell out of me. WOW what a real sound. I have stopped playing my Early American Strat. This Ibanez has grown into my grip. When you don't have to constantly second guess the position of your right hand WITHOUT RESTING YOUR PALM. That is Prime to applying some of the more complex technique. This guitar seems to move under my fingers for me.It sounds strange I know but it is true. It also doesn't make sound evrytime you breath on it. It isn't too sensitive. My Strat. is way too sensitive, it is like trying to walk downhill instead of run. Listen I know you Strat. finatics don't like reading this. Trust me, Try the Ibanez GAX-70 You Will Love It
