Style of Music: Rock

"An inspiring guitar"

Sound:

The sound from this guitar is excellent. Great highs and mids for soloing. Rythm playing is good as well. Sound is very clear. I feel that it's strong point is soloing. Would make a good guitar for a lead guitarist. If you play this guitar with others it will stand out. I remember when I first laid hands on mine, the sound was truly inspirational.

Feature:

The tone and volume controls work great. I have had mine now for 2 years and the volume knob is getting scratchy, but thats to be expected. I never use the tone knob, but it does its job if your into that. I love gold hardware, but the gold on the tremelo is wearing off in a few places. But hey it is still a beauty. All of the pickups and various modes sound great and unique.

Quality:

The guitar is made very well. The vine looks excellent and always stands out. The alder body is supposedly covered with a veneer of basswood to keep wood lines from forming through the paint. Not sure about that cause one is slightly visible on the back of my guitar after 2 years. Everything else is A+ quality, as it should be with the price!

Manufacturer Support:

I have dealt with the company in the past and they have always been good. My only gripe was that I ordered the guitar directly from Hoshino USA factory through guitar center and it was not set up, so after it came in I had to wait! It was painful.

Value:

This guitar is pricey, especially for a japanese guitar, but when you play it you'll think it's worth it. I hope they sell more versions of the guitar over in USA and drop the prices a bit. If you want a jem then this is IMHO the best sounding.

The Wow Factor:

For sex appeal.... come on look at it! If you go to www.jemsite.com and check out http://www.jemsite.com/scrapbk/index.htm . It has a playmate posing with a jem on it. That didn't happen with this guitar for no reason at all! I did alot of research on it before I bought one, it was well worth the price for me.

Overall:

An excellent guitar but overall is meant to be played and not only looked at. It sounds awesome. No problems with this guitar what so ever. You'll be very happy owning one. Most people gawk at it when they see it, and usually everyone thinks it is beautiful.

"A true gem"

Sound:

The presence from this guitar is absolutely unmatched. As soon as you hit that first note, the whole instrument vibrates in your hand and no matter what the setting on the amp, you can feel it resonate from your fingertips to your lungs. The harmonics are hot and the fretboard is quick.

Quality:

One of the tuning nuts was loose and rattled for about a week before I figured out what it was. A quick turn of a wrench and problem solved, no biggie. Still, I expected 100% quality control out of the case for the price paid.

The Wow Factor:

The most addictive sound machine I've ever played. It's hard to put down once you start playing it.

"Buy this guitar or Regret it"

Sound:

I had High hopres going in and hed them coming out. Oh my, this baby get's everything: Vai, Satch( Hum-Singlecoil together), Yngwie, Wes Montgomery, SRV, the list is endless. The Evolutions and high output and compact great for muted leads on E,A,D strings. The neck pickup is smooth but retains it awesomness. Role bakc the tone and jass tones are flowing. I love the tone.

Feature:

What hasen't been said about the Edge-pro. It perfect, haven't gone out in two weeks. Pulling up a 4th and divebombing to hell. You stay where you need to be. Don't listen to people that say it doesn't stay in tune. They problay didn't even know of the locking nut. The Neck feeels greats, inlays are heavenly. The monkey...haha..what a cool feature.

Ease of Use:

The tone and volume knobs will do all that you can imagine, u less ur Sastriani, but still its great. Plays great, looking great, and sooo comfortable.

Quality:

I got mine start from Hoshino. Very well set up, mint condition, and great. MAde to be trashed, but i won', too scared. Neck joint is tough and trus-rodd will with stand heavy trem abuse. Blows Les Pausl SG's PRS's out of the water. Those overpriced Gibsons can;t touch my baby. Sustain is infinate. its still ringing.

Manufacturer Support:

Well i haven't needed them yet because i live near a Master Luither. But I hear they are easy from him. If you break a neck (which is har on this jem) you send it to them and you get a new that. Simple. Yeah!

Value:

Worked very hard for (well i sat a a cash registor), Maybe is Vai did't use them they would be about 200-300 less. But still you get great quality for the money.

The Wow Factor:

Sexiest guitar on the market...hands down.
