"Hard rock distortion pedal. Good for beginners."

Feature:
This pedal is built strong and comes with locking pegs that allow you to keep the same settings on the pedal without them being accidently changed. Quite a smart idea actually, i wonder why Boss didnt come up with it. This pedal makes a specific distortion crunch sound for rock & roll and hard rock (nu-metal), and if u have something in mind other than that, then this pedal is not for you.

Quality:
This pedal is of very good quality and built well. I have dropped and stomped on this pedal many times and it has no damage left on it. A very reliable pedal

Value:
Its pretty good for the price but i think the price should be slightly lower. I got my DS7 for $35 and it was worth it

Sound:
This is a good pedal for heavy songs and is pretty versatile; excellent for palm muting and sounds great with low tunings and 7-string guitars. Its a pretty good crunch distortion It was very satisfying when i used to play nu-metal, which I dont anymore. I dont really reccomend it for long solos and leads because the sustain on this pedal isnt very satisfying and the sound is so crunchy and distorted. I still use the pedal but its not my favourite.

Overall:
I think this is a great pedal for beginners but if you're an advanced player, it wont impress you very much. Great for hard rock but only rythmn guitar, not lead. Needs more sustain.

"Amazing bang for the buck..."

Feature:
fairly limites in its features, but it doesn't need all that much if you run through an eq first.

Quality:
Built well, inexpensive, sounds phenomenal through an eq pedal. Too fuzzy bu itself, but a great all around distortion pedal.

Value:
Cheap, cheap, cheap. Good pedal for the dollar

Desirability:
Doesn't look all that amazing, although the silver metal is a nice look. Also the "tone lock" buttons are a nice aesthetic feature. No knobs sticking up.

Sound:
Amazing through an eq pedal first, limited apart from an external eq.

Support:
Can't rate...don't know.

Overall:
I would replace it in a minute if I broke it or lost it. This is one of the best metal pedals around.
