"great sound!!"
Feature:an easy to use foot switch and 3 controls, nothing that you don't need. comes with a battery, but i use a dunlop dc block.
Quality:
Nice little stomp box, definately not flashy. Seems rugged enough, definately road worthy, made for shredding!
Value:
pretty pricey for a pedal... DO like the sound, though, so that's why i bought it.
Desirability:
this sex appeal question always busts me up... this pedal has a nice butt... as, "it's nothing special, BUT it looks fine"... once again, i bought it for the sound, most people will never even see it.
Sound:
The sound of this tube screamer is fabulous. The controls let you choose everything from a warm, subtle overtone to a balls-out solo shredding scream! I use this with a classic fasel crybaby (for wah) and a hendrix fuzz wah (for extra fuzz), played with a Strat, and it works well with my gear. Sounds better the louder you play ;)
Ease of Use:
Pretty simple to use, only 3 controls. Great range of sound, easy to use with my existing equipment. Didn't really look at the piece of paper they call a manual. Works like most other pedals.
Support:
doubt I'll ever have to complain.
Overall:
This is it for overdrive pedals. I have the sound i want, and this pedal sounds great with my existing pedals. This is a definate "must have" for my collection.

"Absolutely terrible price, Absolutely terrific tone and sound."
Feature:This pedal is no frills- it's got 3 knobs and that's it. But that is not the point of this pedal! The point is vintage tube overdrive sweetness and thick harmonics.
Quality:
These pedals are sexy in that they are built like a mack truck. You can easily kill someone by pummeling them with this pedal if need be.
Value:
Unfortunately Ibanez is price gouging with this pedal because they are greedy jerks. It's not worth the money, but it is an essential pedal = you have to buy it and curse Ibanez for being greedy.
Desirability:
It's green, like 70's green- the sound is totally retro sexy. Rock Stars who use this pedal include Stevie Ray Vaughn(two of them), Jimi Hendrix, and just about any guitar player that uses authentic vintage tones.
Sound:
You have to understand this pedal to appreciate its great value. It is VERY simple, no frills and is the perfect matchup to any TUBE amp that needs some overdrive. If you are a solid-state idiot that is only into metal you will hate this useless pedal. If you are a blues/rock musician trying to get a ballsy tone out of your tube amp and an unbelivable level of sustain that allows you to hold a note until next tuesday... THIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL OF ALL PEDALS.
Support:
No experience whatsoever. I smash pedals into pieces when they don't work and buy one that works.
Overall:
You can't get by the fact that this is a very simple pedal and totally not worth the ridiculous pricetage, but you also can't get by the fact that it contains the most awesome tone ever so you have to buy one!!!

"Simply Distortion. Get the Tube Screamer!"
Feature:What sucks about this pedal is that for $170 you get a pedal with only one setting. Although it sounds great, I would still prefer to get a little something extra, like delay.
Quality:
It being "The Original", I would say it has exceptional quality. Compared to its duplicate, which is about 70 bucks cheaper, I like this Tube Screamer much more. Its simple yet well-structured exterior and fuller sound make it worth the extra money.
Value:
Any pedal with only one setting isn't worth $170.
Desirability:
The simplicity and the old-fashioned look are also part of what draws me to the pedal. It also looks more appealing than any of its duplicates, which look excessively cheap to me.
Sound:
I used this pedal with a Strat and a Line 6 amp. The sound was amazing. It truly is classic distortion. I loved the raw sound it gave out. It made my songs sound fresh and alive, although minimal details are hard to pick up on.
Overall:
Classic Distortion is basically what I am looking for, so purchasing a Tube Screamer would be a very rational decision. It contains everything I am looking for but is not exactly in my price range.

"You should try a TS-808"
Feature:On light is the best feature... On-Off switch feels better than TS-9... The weight of the unit is good, stays in place.
Quality:
Excellent quality!
Value:
Great value considering used 808 prices.
Desirability:
Great "Tone' appeal... The color? Hey... Green For "GO!!!"
Sound:
Compared it(side by side)to TS-9 ,it has a warmer-darker tone , TS-9 is better for "Glassy-Strat" bite , The 808 responds better to slight varitions in picking,hammer-on,pulloff and volume knob changes... Adds fluidity to the fingers. Sounds great by itself. Try it in a chain such like this: 1st 808, Drive at 10 oclock, Volume at 1 oclock, Tone at 3:30 2nd RAT, Drive at 10 oclock, Volume at 1 oclock, Tone at 12 oclock 3rd Big Muff (circa 1973) Drive at a little more than "just-on", Tone at 1/2, Volume is up to you (set a hotter volume than others for "kick-in" leads.) Back guitar volume to 7 to take out some bass. I use a ceramic capacitor as a hi-pass filter on the volume pot, .001 for strat & Tele volume pots. Also... try a .05 Ceramic capacitor for the tone pots. Duncan Little 59 Pickups for Strat and Tele along with Classic Stack Strat Pickups work like a dream with these pedals. You can use the 808 to drive a Tone Works Pandora and get top-notch direct sounds for recording and jamming live... without carrying lots of gear. (Air Travel)
Support:
Never needed support. Burnt out an original 808 & had to buy a TS-9 but it was not the same... something was missing... Reissue 808 has solved the problem. Thanks Ibanez!!! You want it? They'll build it!
Overall:
This is a "Tone" pedal. Think of Santana's Early Tone and even Angus Young's Tone before they started sounding "Hi-Gain" & "Overdriven" Don't need to search for another due to "Reissue" factor. Would buy another if it turned up missing or dead :o)
