"GET THEM WHILE YOU STILL CAN!"
Quality:
Bullet proof
Value:
Way cheaper than Mackie and no other powerd seris compare. The list $$$ was steep in my eyes, but now that they have come down, a great deal! Once you own one (or more) you'd gladly pay list!
Desirability:
Smooth clean and professional. I like the deep satin black Much better than the "faded" gray of the first generation EONs. Then there's the newer generation EONs.... Whatda#%@!! They look like a Radio Shack special!
Ease of Use:
Plug and play... No Brainer
Support:
What problems? Can't break it (But I'm still trying)
Overall:
I originally bought my G2-10 for $200 USED from a friend just to help him out in the cash dept. Didn't know what it sounded like, didn't know what it was worth, didn't know what I was going to do with just ONE little ten inch "monitor"!
Now I have one Big regret about buying this... I need five more! This thing is completely bullet proof, it sounds WAY better than ANY composite cabinet (I usually hate 'em). Way warmer than the over priced Mackies (although I do love my Mackie vlz boards)
I use it for small venues in solo work, add one more and a powered sub and these things will rock a medium sized bar room. I hook the little monster up to my laptop sound card and it gets moved from my house to my yard for get togethers, and to my garage for "happy hour". I bring it with me as a monitor on large gigs, and use it as a satellite when a less than optimum room shape requires an extra speaker. Talk about a beautifully warm sounding P.A for a speaking engagement... Just add a good mic and a speaker stand. If she finds a chance, my daughter hooks her Cavs CDG unit into it and practices Karaoke! In all I would say the EON is powered up approximately 64 hours per week. My EV systems are worth Thousands, & I treat them as such, but honestly, my little JBL has been used (ok, abused) for over 3 YEARS and has never even hiccuped!
I never (not once) have written a product review, only because musicians tastes (and technical ability) vary waaaay too much to say if any product will work for all. Also quality assurance of a company could mean Tom gets a great unit and Jane gets a hunk of crap. First, if you are looking at a unit of this quality, you're smart enough to know that "Death Metal" or Mega Bass Hip-Hop might not be the ultimate music genres for a 10" ANYTHING! Add some subs, you might be surprised. Next, I have had the pleasure of talking many in my circle into purchasing EONs. They just "feel" as if they want to be left playing 24/7 and negative quality control issues appear to be non-existent...just plug and play!
Think this review was long....I could talk for days about this awesome little speaker. In fact, I just talked (typed) myself into gettin' it a brother!
Thanks for your vote. Can you specify what about this review did or did not help you?
