"A Match Made in DJ/Karaoke heaven!"

Sound:
I have done tons of research and comparing. I already have the JBL EON's 315's and I like them but I wanted to step up to the next level for DJ'ing and Karaoke for medium-sized gigs. I bought a pair of JBL PRX 615's from Sameday Music along with the JBL 618S subwoofer. I am so happy with this setup! I run a Mackie Onyx 1220i and PCDJ Red/Karoki software and the JBL PRX's and this IS the BEST gigging combo I have ever heard. The hookup is absolutely simple...I run to XLR's off the Mackie Onyx outs to the PRX Sub, and XLR's from the PRX sub thru's to the JBL 615M's on Hercules SS700B Crank Speaker stands. Totally awesome! It rocks Reno casinos night in, night out! I also use the new Boss VE-20 vocal processor. That's it. I will put this setup against the world for DJ'ing and KJ'ing. The ultimate setup. A HIGHSIERRABASSPLAYER 5-star thumbs up!

Easy config. Excellent quality. Lightweight. Tough...road tested. Night after night. I use it every Friday and Saturday nite in the toughest environment...casino karaoke! Earthquake rockin' blues and rock!

Simple. Clear. Thumb. The PRX 618S is your key to rock. PERIOD!
Quality:
Built like a tank, but light. Tough, tough finish. Cab & Grill is drunkproof!

The Wow Factor:
A "10" from me. It even made a convincer out of my wife after hearing the difference between my EON's and the PRX's. Miles apart. The PRX 600 series is NOT merely a powered JRX version...these are the bomb! Better than the SRX and the perfect match for DJ'ing and karaoke.
Overall:
If only you knew. I checked out the QSC's, the Mackie, the Yamaha (and I love Yamaha mixers, speakers, amps) powered speakers...no comparison. The JBL 600 series wins hands down.

"One of the best portable PA choices"

Sound:
The sound fullness of this speaker is remarkable. It is better than any other portable self-powered PAs I have seen. Size does matter here. So does the weight. This is a _portable_ sound machine. The built in amps are nicely matched to the speaker so you don't need any special corrections here. More importantly there is no need of a separate amplifier and amplifier case. Although not necessary for a small venue, I am now looking for rounding it up with a PRX618S-XLF powered bass package.
Feature:
I like the monitor/pa feature. I can use it in my studio or when out for a gig. The DBX limiter works like a charm, no clipping here.
Ease of Use:
Just plug and play.
Quality:
The cabinet is extremely rugged. Can't think of something better engineered here. The Crown amplifier is light and powerful. It is dependable. Sound quality does not degrade when used at full output power for hours.
Manufacturer Support:
Upon arrival one of the speakers started to hiss during a 15 minutes burn in test. SDM rushed me a replacement in time for my gig and before I had a chance to drop the defective unit to UPS. I call this excellent customer service.
Value:
I bought a pair of these speakers after surveying the marked for a couple of days. For me PRX615M represents the best bang for the buck in the 1000W PA speaker class.
The Wow Factor:
The product looks distinctively. It is versatile, can work as a stage monitor too. The tilted mount hole is useful when mounted higher on the stage.
Overall:
This is a keeper. I expect it to serve well for years. Can't think of a better replacement. But technology moves fast and we have yet to see what the future will bring in.
