"Great product to give your bass drum a low-end boost!"

Sound:
I was very satisfied with the sound enhancement the kickport provided. I recently downsized from a 22 to an 18 x 20 Gretsch Reknown bass drum and was a little disappointed with the lack of "oomph" in the low end. It sounded good but something was missing. I added the kickport to an Aquarian Force II resonant head and the result was a significant boost in low end response just as promised in the product literature. I wouldn't describe the difference as "huge" but it was definitely significant and noticeable. I believe it gave me pretty close to the sound I was used to in my 22 inch bass drum which is exactly what I was looking for when I bought this.
Feature:
The design is very innovative and allows you to install it without removing the head from the drum which was great! It mounts very snugly to the head yet can be easily removed if you need to (although that would require removing the head to get access to the back side.
Ease of Use:
Instructions were clear and simple. Took about 10 minutes to get it in place including cutting the hole in the head. No adjustments required, just install and it works.
Quality:
Product seems to be very well made and sturdy. Expect it will last a long time and could even be moved from one drum to another and reused.
Manufacturer Support:
No need for support. Product is well made, easily installed.
Value:
$40 is a lot cheaper than buying a new bass drum to get the sound I wanted (which I was actively considering before trying the Kickport).
The Wow Factor:
Doesn't look substantially different than any other bass drum hole reinforcement product. It's just a very practical and effective product.
Overall:
I'm fully satisfied. I'll be keeping my new 20 inch bass drum a long time thanks to the Kickport sound enhancement.
