"ToneWorks is practically a necessity."
Sound:
I got lucky and picked up one of these little buggers secondhand at a good price. It was better than expected, because not only can you choose from a plethora of effects, but it {seemingly accurately) will reproduce selected drive amps, speaker cabinets, even ambeience (room, hall, etc.). It also has a great feature that allows you to simply plug your guitar into the toneworks and plug in any pair of earphones (studio earphones not necessary) and play away with perfect sound quality. Wich is awesome if you live in an apartment with whiny neighbours. I typically use it for the wierd effects it has, and tweak them untill I find some sort of insanity that I like. The only thing I would have liked would maybe be an on/off switch so that I could use it live.
Feature:
Mine didn't come with an AC adapter, as it was second hand, but I imagine it comes with one new.
Quality:
Mine was a few years old when I got it, and still looked and worked fine. It seems pretty heavy duty, and could probably take a pretty good beating. I rarely take it out with me though, because it simply isn't practical for live playing.
Manufacturer Support:
Again, mine was second hand.
Value:
It's worth it's weight in gold.
The Wow Factor:
It's just an effects pedal.
Overall:
I'm sure something better will come along, and I'll probably want it. But I wont buy it unless I can find it secondhand.
