"NOTHING BETTER"

Feature:
This amp already has too much but very usefull for the guitar player who's not afraid of a few bells and whistles. It has plenty of effects such as mod, delays, reverbs etc. Great clean sounds but most important a whole lot of heavy distortions.

Quality:
Well lets start off by saying the HD147 is entirly made out of chrome, it's obvoisly meant to last you a life time. Line 6 has always been on top of thier game they know what is best and reliable. The amp itself takes alote of head room for days(it will never fall short on you) The product is "built like a tank and sounds like a dream" Should I say more.

Value:
Yes and no. For the retail it is a bit over the budget but compare to other amps out there this particular amp deserves it's reputation.

Desirability:
Very attractive all silver chrome with black lights trying to escape from the inside and a whole light of lights yellow, green, red and blue. Very cool.Truely the best looking amp out there.Very futuristic. I wish I can afford another one.

Sound:
This baby is the worlds greatest amp not just because of it's wide selection on amps, cabs and effects but the line6 modern tones are really heavy such as insane, big bottom, treadplate and spinal puppet and so on. I gave the sound quility a 9 because the tone based on mesa boogie dual rectifier thier's just too much static. But everything else is perfect.

Support:
I own a Line6 HD147 and guitarport. Never had no problems with the products. I use to own a flextone 2 combo but I sold it for something bigger and meaner. My friends own a flextone 2 head and spider combo by line 6, great amplifiers.

Overall:
I used to own the Marshall Triple Super Lead 100 and I ended up selling on line because I can't afford to maintain a tube amp. So I bought something a bit cheaper but only better. I will never give this amp up. Try out the HD147 and you'll know what im raving about.

"HD 147 -better than it looks"

Feature:
the amp provides a good selection of amp/cab models, effects, delays and reverbs. the reverbs are a little tricky to select but this is overcome when you plug the amp into a computer and use the Line 6 edit software. The noise gate is disapointing to put it bluntly. im satisfied by the features on this amp when gigging and recording.

Quality:
great construction. the only problems i found was crackling drive, eq, and presence knobs but this is probably specific to my amp. if you threw this amp off a skyscraper it would still work.

Value:
the head is packed full of everything an amateur/semi pro guitarist would need. for this price you get a lot.

Desirability:
this amp looks sick. turn it on in the dark and you'll see what i mean.

Sound:
overall very good. the worst models tend to be the high gain marshalls. the initial bite is too much and they lack gain i.e.JCM 800 model. they really have to be cranked to get any kind of decent sound and even then, they lack. however the boogies, bogners, diezels and fenders are superb. not to mention of course the sick Line 6 originals.

Support:
this amp hasnt ever needed any repairs. solid state means no tubes to replace.

Overall:
I had a choice between a HD 147 or a Marshall Mode 4 and i chose the Line 6. the reason?- i needed versitility, features, duribility, good looks and massive power. although the Mode 4 came close the HD 147 is just better for me. Obviously I would much prefer the real amps which the 147 models but theres no way i could possibly afford them all.

"Bug Zapper"

Feature:
The one thing I don't like is that the amp does not let you use everything thats on the fbv footboard. Lots of buttons on the board are waisted.

Quality:
No tubes to break, it has to be better!

Value:
I would pay $2000 for this amp. It's like buying a bunch of amps for the price of one!

Desirability:
Black lights inside a guitar amp? What is cooler looking than that? Maybe if the whole thing was covered in chrome...oh wait, it is covered in chrome.

Sound:
This amp is phat! So many sounds, without the troubles and noise of tubes!

Support:
never had to use them.

Overall:
I got rid of almost every effects pedal I had used with my Mesa Boogie, now I only use a whammy-wah for outside effects. This amp has everything you need. The cab simulations are awesome. The cleans are great, and the distortion kills any other amp I have played. I am no longer looking for that perfect sound, I found it with this amp, and it only took about an hour.

"Not bad....but not the holy grail some would have you believe."

Feature:
I didn't give it a ten because you need to hook up the foot board or a MIDI link to get to all the features.

Quality:
Seems tuff as balls so far. Haven't toured with it yet, but seems like it should last.

Value:
I would have given this a 5 based upon the going price these are fetching, but I got a really good deal and that helped me make the decision to buy this model.

Sound:
It is a good sounding amp, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't FEEL as good as my Laney GH50L, or my old Peavey Ultra Plus. That is the nature of solid state. Having just used it in the studio, I found it goes to tape very well, and lets you shape your sound in more detail than most heads.

Support:
Only had email contact so far and they were very nice and helpful.

Overall:
I might just switch back to my one cahnnel Laney and enjoy the ease of "turn it up and rock out", and to get the FEEL of tubes.
