"Pod HD Pro Rocks!!!"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
I already owned a POD HD 500 and was used to the amazing sounds/tones that can be produced by this unit. They are clear and realistic that I would find it hard to believe anyone would tote around multiple amps and effects these days.
Feature:
The features are perfect. The amp models allow you to model multiple amp tweaking parameters such as bias, sag, etc.
Ease of Use:
The user interface on the unit is very simple to navigate and is not a hindrance to crafting useful tones. Editing and creating tones while the unit is integrated with a PC is even easier and a little more graphic. The layout is perfect for my use where if I use this unit as a front to a tube amp I use the pre-amp models. If I play directly through a PA I use the full amp models. There is functionality within the unit called ‘set lists’ which makes keeping these organize a breeze.
Quality:
The unit is built like a tank even though it doesn't have to be. The floor model does and is but this unit either sits in the studio or in the back line area where it wouldn't typically get a beating. The knobs are very good quality as is the layout.
Manufacturer Support:
N/A. I have not had to deal with support for this unit. I have dealt with Line 6 support in the past and they have been extremely helpful
Value:
This product is actually worth more than the selling price. The unit that this is competing against runs approximately $2800. I have used one of those units and I am much happier with this one... especially for the price I paid.
The Wow Factor:
The layout is perfect, easy to read, easy to navigate, and the features are exactly what any working guitarist would need.
Overall:
It's hard to say at this point but I honestly can't see any reason going forward why I would ever need to replace this unit. It currently does absolutely everything I need it to and more.
