"Line6...Believe."

Feature:
I think the most notable of the features with the PodXT Live is the USB interface that allows you to update and edit your sounds with your computer. You can build your tones, take preset tones form guitarport, and assign them to any of the 4 presets of any of the 32 banks. Another handy feature is its abilty to cater its sound to what you are playing into. It has different settings depending on wether you are playing into the front of your amp, a poweramp, or directly into your mixer.

Quality:
A very sturdy unit. I did have a squeeky pedal but it was repaired while still under warranty. I recommend you get it taken care of if you are having a similar issue. Another obvious flaw is that it is designed to be used while on the floor. At a club or bar that can be a very dangerous place. That being said, it appears to be built to handle quite a bit of physical abuse. It is constructed of steel, i think. Anyway it is very well put together. Definitely road worthy.

Value:
For all that it does and is capable of doing in the future i think the price is more than fair. All of the updates are free!!! So you pay once, and continue to get the best of what Line6 has to offer.

Desirability:
It looks good. Nothing too crazy.

Sound:
This unit really does sound solid. Im a believer that all digital preamp effect and amp modelers are not quite 100% accurate, but this is a great sounding and extremely versatile piece. Some of the sounds are better than others, but line6 has already resolved some of the issues i had with this unit via the version update. Very sweet! Alot more more natural than the other multi-amp and effect processors i have played with. I use it with a Variax 700 (yes, I heart line6) and the sound is very good. I think if you can afford it, a tube poweramp is a must for a live application with this unit.

Ease of Use:
I will say that it is easy to get GOOD sounds out of it. GREAT ones require a little more effort. If you want GREAT i think you are better off with an actual tube amp. But the versatility of this is wirth noting, over and over again. I found it very easy to use. I think line6 does a good job with all of their user manuals and this is no exception. I do think that the diplay is a little small and sometimes difficult to see.

Support:
Nothing but good things to say. Lot of help. I recommended a pitch shifter to a line6 rep and when the version update came out it was equipped with exactly that. The repair i had done was also very easy. The website is a fantastic tool. Maybe one of the most complete sites i have used for gear info.

Overall:
I plan to use this in my live rig for the unforseeable future. With the Variax, I have an almost unmeasurable level of flexability. I have no desire to replace any of it. I chose this over other products because of the natural tonality it had when compared to other brands, digitech, Korg, etc. The XT Live would be a good addition to any live rig and has many applications for recording as well.

"Big Bang for your buck."

Feature:
It came with a USB cable and manual. It includes amp simulators that get pretty close (though I'm sure most people have not heard all of the amps it impersonates) on the models I have played. I tend to see these as a general sound guide and don't expect exact replicas. The pedal effect simulators get close enough for the price. In fact, for around $400 I can't think of another pedalboard with this many quality options. The tuner is even accurate!

Quality:
It feels nice and solid though I wouldn't stomp on it. I like the bar that protects the amplike knobs near the top. I have been using this for about 6 months now and it seems quite durable.

Value:
The only other good board in this class is the Vox. Both are solid choices It blows away any other multi effect and modeling unit I have seen in this price range.

Desirability:
It has a nice look to it. Though sexy is a strange term for electronic devices. The sounds it can achieve are a bit of a turn on. If you like the book/movie Crash, you may find this machine sexy. It has helped me get more creative with my sound choices on stage and recording.

Sound:
This pedalboard sounds great through headphones, an amp, or directly into recording gear. I gave it a 9 for the presets and clean sound. If you read the manual and take your time tweaking out sounds you should be able to save just about any sound you are looking for. When you have a pedalboard with so many features, it does take a little work to personalize your sounds.

Support:
I just have to guess here as I haven't had to contact the company. They do have proper web and telephone contact.

Overall:
I't has the ability to upgrade easily thru Line 6 website and I can see this being a great front end for my sounds for years to come. The only thing I would change is the size of the view screen. Make it a few inches bigger for reading on stage. Otherwise, a great investment.

"Best Effect I Ever Bought. (Is that good enough?)"

Feature:
Includes all accessories, easy to select banks and sounds in each bank. Easy to program.

Quality:
Built rugged. I have had no problems.

Value:
Best effect I ever bought. I have no need for any others, except BBE Enhancer which is too good not to use.

Desirability:
Playing with any sound I want is "sexy" I suppose. When I play my guitar through this, all the women hand me their motel room keys. OK, that's B.S., but the rest of this review is legit.

Sound:
Some below have complained about the preset sounds. They're actually OK, but the best sounds are those you can program yourself, and best yet, download from an online library. I was pleasantly surprized at the great sounds I was able to download that were created by others. Enter an artist or song, and you may find the presets downloadable. You can then use as-is, or tweak them to your preferences. Also, I use it LIVE and find it EXCELLENT, despite what others have said. I have to think they're too lazy to learn how to use it, and it ain't that hard.

Support:
Good online site, but again, they need one page that explains how to download sounds. I have no need to contact directly as I've had no problems.

Overall:
As of now I need no other effects (except that BBE Maximizer stomp box).

"Road Devil"

Feature:
This thing is complete...no use buying a line six amp...any ole amp will do; you only need to get to know the piece before going on the road; many of my friends who called it JUNK, changed their tune after they learned the basics.

Quality:
Very well built. I call it the ROAD DEVIL!

Value:
It's pretty cheap for its many functions. You only need to spend sometime with the damn thing.

Desirability:
It looks good.

Sound:
great for studios. There could be problems with live sound if you didn't practice beforehand.

Support:
Never had any problems.

Overall:
With the present digital revolution, one can never tell but for now, all is in there.
