"Not just a pretty face."
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
It comes with Remo UK heads, which, while not as good as "real" Remo heads, are still a step up from the generic heads that come with cheap kits. With a quick tune up this thing rocks. The sound is clear and penetrating, just like a birch kit should be. My first drum set was a Ludwig Pinnacle, so I was blown away by this set.
Feature:
Well, it's a drum kit and it came with all the parts. It also came with some super light 7A sticks. Wish it came with a drum throne, but that would've just made it more expensive.
Ease of Use:
The "vibra-band" system took a bit to figure out, but it allows for a wide range of tom placements. Other than that, it couldn't be easier. Oh, there is no manual, so if this is your first kit, find someone to help you or look up youtube videos.
Quality:
It seems very well made and looks beautiful. I've only had it a day, so time will tell, but it seems very solid so far. I got one in Blue Fade and the floor tom seems to "fade" more than even the longer bass drum, but that's probably just a personal preference.
Manufacturer Support:
I have no idea. Hope I never do.
Value:
For the price, I don't think you can find anything better. Rock solid and beautiful.
The Wow Factor:
It looks professional. Glittery, but still refined. As I said before, I wish the floor tom didn't "fade" as much, but others may like it that way.
Overall:
Since I'll never be a pro drummer, this should last me a long time. As long as it holds up, I'll probably keep it forever.
