    "THE SHIZZLE"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
Great ins/outs. You can guild a front computer interface for this thing easily, and it's better than the audigy by a mile.

    Quality:
Very easy to install/use. Good, simple interface on the software.

    Value:
how cheap is $150 for this card??? It's amazing for the price. I mean amazing.

    Desirability:
It's a great addition to anyone doing any kind of audio work, but very good for the low cost studio for a working musician. It will interface with your mixer very easily and then you're off recording!

    Sound:
Great sound. Can get a little tinny at times, when recording in 96 mode, but still has awesome ability.

    Support:
Have not needed any, but I would bet it's great.

    Overall:
I figured this would be a great card, and i was right. It has everything I wanted, and it's the best cost. Some would tell me that the Audigy platinum is better than this card... I would not agree. The s/n ratio on the Audigy is terrible. It's not made for stuido work. It's made for being flashy, eating memory and being a waste of your computer's pci slot. Get an Audiophile and do yourself a favor... save cash for something else, and record with a winner.

"Great design and pristine sound quality"

    Feature:
This is a very basic card that gets the job done. Although it doesn't have 3000 useless features like many other cards on the market, what it is meant to do, it does well. I strongly recommend this card to anybody who is looking for a basic semi-pro sound card and who also wants to use it as a main sound card in their computer. Moreover, unlike some of the other musician oriented cards, Audiophile 2496 handles game audio, and even outputs 5.1 AC-3 spdif signal for decoding in your home theater receiver. So you can easily use this card for the surround expereince in movies.

    Quality:
Very sturdy card. Love the gold-plated connectors.

    Value:
This is the category where this product shines. It screams value all over it. For a $100 you get an awesome card thats up there with the bigger Delta cards.

    Desirability:
The sheer simplicity and elegance of the card design is enough to justify buying it. There is no filler software. Just what is needed.

    Sound:
Ok here is the deal folks, this card sounds amazing. You know that a card sounds good when you hear things on familiar recordings that you haven't heard before. I am extremely satisfied by the output of the card, its pristine quality.

    Support:
Haven't dealt with M-Audio customer service, but I hear they are OK.

    Overall:
I expect this card to last for many years. I use this card in a pro tools LE system. So this card handles all of the system audio and non pro tools audio applications, while the pro tools hardware is used to run the PT sequencing software.

"Read this for most of it's good abilities."

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
Too bad it didn't implement extra busses so you could mix in surround 5.1, but it is a budget card, what more can you ask for.

    Quality:
No complaints on quality though. Why no 192k though? HEHE

    Value:
You do get what you pay for though.

    Desirability:
Got it for use with Gigastudio only. Audigy does the job otherwise and can mix into 5.1 but I don't think it has any pro hardware acceleration like it does in games, which blows. I'd have to try an actual hard disk pro card to see if it mattered.

    Sound:
Good quality sound, and it does work on XP.

    Support:
    Didn't need any.

"It's best choice (price:quality) for start professional MIDI seqencing!"

    Feature:
    Not much accessories, but satisfied!

    Quality:
    It's OK with product's price!

    Value:
It's seem's very good, for first professional steps in MIDI sequencing!

    Desirability:
    It's not preety too much!

    Sound:
Sound is better than a all card's in that price range! In midi recording you can here from time to time some "pop's" or "click's" but in playback are less of them or none! More Money=More Music

"Good if your not doing multitracking(other than the pops)"

    Overall:
For beginners this card is good if you can get past the pops and clicks. But for the most part God has blessed my music through this card to atleast be very clear. Ive come to know that the pops and clicks change from music program to program. I encourage you all if you do have it, and dont have money to buy a better card just try with another program. It worked for me. Im using Cubase 5.0.
