"Perfect for home recording, could also be used in a professional recording studio."

Sound:
I'm a 25 year veteran recording engineer and bought this mic because it looked like a Neumann U-89 rip off, and hey it was only 100 bucks. I did a test in my studio between a Sennheiser 416, a Neumann U-87 and U-89, and the M-Audio. After a minor amount of EQ none of the recording engineers I played it for pick out the $100 dollar mic. My feeling is this is a GREAT mic for home recording. Buy this mic and save your money for software and a faster computer.
Feature:
Comes with a shock mount, fake leather bag, and 6' XLR cable.
Quality:
Solid. Feels heavy in your hand. It's REAL METAL, not plastic that looks like metal in a photo. Quiet, with a fair amount of gain. I think I had my mic-pre at +44db for a vocal.
Manufacturer Support:
I've used M-audio's support for other products, but not this one. They are terrific.
Value:
A great value. I don't know how M-Audio can build, distribute, and retail this quality of a mic for $100.
The Wow Factor:
I could use this in my studio charging clients hundreds of dollars an hour and they'd never know the difference between this mic and many of the $2 - $10K ones we have.
But honestly, a "sexy" mic to me is a 1950 Neumann U-47 (about $10K) in pristine condition. Just look at all the old Beatles albums to see what I'm talking about.
