"Does What It Should but a bit expensive for its functionality"
Feature:Is only USB 1.1 as opposed to other units which are USB 2.0
Quality:
It has been in use for a week, and functions fine. I am not sure how it will hold up in the long run, but if you take care of it, I assume it will continue to function.
Value:
Didn't like the price... $40 for this is a bit steep expecially since there are other versions which do the same thing. Cut a few bucks off and take out the LED lights
Desirability:
Give me a break... it is a cable.
Ease of Use:
I am using this on Windows XP (SP2) and with a Boss GT-8 pedalboard. Fires up and does exactly what it is supposed to do.
Support:
Have Not Experienced This Yet.
Overall:
We'll see how this holds up. If so, it was worth it for my application. Otherwise, I'd return it.

"There are better alternatives than this somewhar cheesey unit whose driver does not fire the unit up in XP. The Edirol UM-1SX be"
Feature:n/a
Quality:
n/a
Value:
Can't compare with the Edirol, which is even LESS MONEY!
Desirability:
Who cares if you can't get it to work?
Sound:
Can't get the drivers loaded and working with XP. The Edirol Drivers loaded and the Edirol UM- 1SX unit responded immediately. Save time and frustration and buy the Edirol UM-1SX. Its also a much more robust unit with no Mickey Mouse cables.
Ease of Use:

Support:
Didn't bother. Their site offered no help. I have purchased other M Audio Products and have been satisfied...but not this POS.

"It Does the Job"
Feature:I needed a basic MIDI in/out, and that's what it does.
Quality:
My rabbit chewed on the cables a bit, and after I taped them up, it still works.
Value:
Pretty inexpensive.
Desirability:
Anyone who finds 'sex appeal' in a MIDI interface is probably a registered sex offender at best.
Sound:
It doesn't produce sound.
Support:
Never dealt with them.
Overall:
You know, I'm seeing a pattern here. I've been using this unit for a couple of years with no problems at all on any machine I've used it with, but I see that a lot of people can't get it to work at all. I bought another USB MIDI device that ran fine on Windows 98SE but wouldn't even show up on Windows Xp, yet others write that they have no problems with it running on Xp. I don't know whether the software issue is on Microsoft's end or on the manufacturer's or somewhere between, but it seems to me that it's critical in this area to test the gear with the setup you have before buying it.

The three LED's are nice, otherwise there's not much to it. The midi cables are very long, but the USB cable is only about 2 feet. The midi-in and midi-out are labled on the connectors.
Value:
The price seems a little high for what it is, but it really fits the bill perfectly for certain situations.
Support:
Works fine under XP, never had to contact them.
