"Puts My Other Guitars to Shame"
Sound:
For my money there is nothing out there that beat the overall sound that this instrument delivers. It is fantastically alive and vibrant.
Feature:
The 000-28EC is the best combination of incredible sound, short-scale, wide string spacing and smaller body size that any finger picker could ever dream of.
Ease of Use:
The typical string action of 000-28ECs is set up just a tad high for my bare-fingerpicking tastes but it is otherwise so easy to play that it is soon forgotten.
Quality:
Much better top wood on these guitars than most others in the Martin line
Manufacturer Support:
I haven't had the opportunity to use Martin's support, but I can't imagine any guitar company's support being better than Taylor's.
Value:
At a street price of just under $3K new, this is a remarkable bargain for what Martin delivers in this instrument.
Overall:
I have never coveted a guitar like I did this one and never had a moments "buyer's remorse". It is everything I was looking for and much more. I love my Martin M-38 and my Taylor 712 but I doubt I will play them much anymore. It is just impossible for me not to pick up the 000-EC when I feel the urge to play.
