    "A Classic"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
A plain acoustic, built with quality and care.

    Quality:
    It's a martin. Great quality.

    Value:
For the price, this is an excellent guitar, with better construction, sound, and quality than almost any other brand name acoustic out there. (aside from higher priced Martins or Gibsons).

    Desirability:
It's a simple guitar that makes good music. For the price, it does the job better than any others out there. Also, the smell of the mahogany each time you open the case is enough to make me want it.

    Sound:
    Good, clear, warm, bassy sound.

    Support:
Haven't dealt with Martin, as there haven't been any problems. I did have great service from samedaymusic when I needed the endpin sent to me.

    Overall:

    Martin D15 Customer Review

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
well, it included a Fishman pickup, but that was already installed when i bought it. the pickup is very nice, but sort of unnecessary, because it resonates so much.

    Quality:
Looks wonderful, sounds amazing, and i've seen a 70 year old Martin that still plays like new. Such good quality, that i could see myself handing this down to my child, if i ever have one! Just perfect.

    Value:
Compared to the list price of this guitar, it's a steal. I actually got mine with a capo, a hardshell case, and a dehumidifier for 460, but if you cant find that sort of deal, this is where to get it.

    Desirability:
the sound alone is enough to make me drool.

    Sound:
Wow. I went to the guitar shop, tried alvarez's, ibanez's, and then this heavenly guitar caught my eye. Not the most beautiful or anything, but one G chord, and i got shivers up my spine. It was so amazingly loud, sweet, and "round" sounding. Can't get better.

    Overall:
i expect to die with this guitar still intact. as long as I keep good care of it, it'll last a lifetime. it lasts as long as you want it to. save your money, get this guitar, and be happy. i went into buying this guitar with no previous experience, and i was taken aback by the sound that came out of it. just amazing

"try everything out there - - however, you'll likely return for this guitar - - by far, the biggest bang for the buck!!"

    Feature:
the mahogony satin finish is on the delicate side - -ie sweat stains etc, but no biggy

    Quality:
hey, this is a martin - - enough said!!

    Value:
Again, for the money, this guitar sounds like many costing two or three times more

    Desirability:
there are infinitely sexier looking guitars out there - - if you happen to be into that aspect - personally, I was looking for sound, playability and value for dollars spent.

    Sound:
Within this price range - its simple - - the sound can't be beat - period. Subsequent to endless shopping, playing everything out there and in some cases two or three time more costly - the choice was easy - the d15

    Support:
Support for what?? Never needed it - never antipate needing it.

this guitar is one of my favorites in what is a 6 guitar collection

    "Great value, mellow sound"

    Feature:
All the features one would expect for the price... Tuners, soundhole, neck and body. They even throw in a nice case! OK, the rosette is a decal. A real rosette would be nice and add a tiny bit of strength to the top, but that would bring the cost up.

    Quality:
Well, some complaints have been made about the strength of this guitar. I guess I got a good one... about two years after I bought it, a large console TV from the seventies fell on it while it was in its open case on the floor. I thought it was dead but it survived with a couple of dings on the top-to-side joint!

    Value:
This is a lot of guitar for the money. But play one before buying. I bought mine in 1998 and still like it. At the time it was the first budget Martin and it lacks the cosmetic features of traditional Martin guitars (rosette, binding, centerstrip and fingerboard inlay). But it's a nice factory guitar for the $$.

    Sound:
The sound of this Martin is softer in the treble and upper midrange as compared to a similar-sized spruce top Martin like a D28. What one might expect from a mahogany top instead of spruce.,

    Support:
Not especially helpful with advice regarding the upkeep on the finish.

    Overall:
I really like this guitar and it was a great value for the sound. It will develop a buzz occasionally when I take it from 50% humidity and 70 degrees to an environment with 15% humidity and 95 degrees. I guess most acoustics do that. The finish is very basic but I don't have to worry about babying it. I've got a D-28 and an 000-28 also but this one I play more frequently and don't worry about it getting scratched or dinged.

    "Great git-box for the $$$$"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
Nothing fancy...but the quality is great. My biggest complaint is the satin finish. Looks good new, but with repeated playing has become glossy where my right arm rests. Still plays fine, but I would have preferred a glossy top.

    Quality:
Have been very pleased with the craftsmanship. I plan on playing this guitar for many years. Maybe the wood's a little soft for "on the road" use, but if you take care of your gear, shouldn't have any problems.

    Value:
For the money, I think it's an outstanding value. I got mine CHEAP, but with my current experience would now gladly pay normal retail. (not MSRP though...$1000)

    Desirability:
For a high-quality, solid-top guitar...it has been a wonderful choice. Have had it for 4 years and got my money's worth a long time ago.

    Sound:
Very rich, sound. Maybe a little bass-heavy for some players.

    Support:
Haven't needed any repairs, but the one repair inquiry I had was quickly and pleasantly handled. They told me the closest repair shop and how to get warranty work done.

    Overall:
Overall, great guitar for the money. Yeah...I'll probably get a nicer guitar sometime in the next few years, but only because I'm not afraid to beat this one up a little now. I'd like to have a 'really nice acoustic' guitar and an 'everyday acoustic.' Get it with electrics so you can plug in later...I wish I had.

"Want a great acoustic with warm tone & great playability? This is probably the ticket..."

    Feature:
No frills & some would say it's not a stage guitar...but to me the only thing that matters is the tone & playability.

    Quality:
Overall, the quality is very good, though I wouldn't want to bump it around...keep it in the case when not playing.

    Value:
I've tried many more expensive guitars that didn't satisfy my need for the great tone this one has.

    Desirability:
It looks raw & feels natural...and thus 'sexy'.

    Sound:
Has a warm tone compared to bright as in D28. Quality of sound is superb. Good response after lowering strings. May want slightly lighter gauge strings (if you finger pick & use much twisting action); Very expressive sound; neck is a bit narrow, but once you get used to it, it's fine; sounds great solo & has enough volume to be heard with other instruments if you use a pick (I use bare fingers, mostly); sounds good recorded, but warm tone is great live; plays equally well up & down the neck with or without cappo; play mostly solo at home to unwind after work or just to relax in evening!

    Support:
Have dealt with a certified Martin luthier. Charged $45 for a setup. Lowered strings from factory setup, will soon put lighter gauge on, though the strings it came with are fine. Don't think a little lighter gauge will hurt the tone that much...I don't care for twisting even medium gauge strings.

    Overall:
I plan on keeping it till I die or get arthritis so bad I can't lift it.

    "Excellent product! Great value!"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Quality:
Excellent quality at a lower price. I was a little worried about the finish, but I've been told by 'seasoned' players that the finish will actually improve the sound quality over time.

    Value:
    Worth every penny spent!

    Sound:
This guitar sounds great. The lower tones are pure. It holds it's tune well.

"You'll either love or hate the appearance of this guitar, but you'll love the sound quality and the price."

    Feature:
Standard accessories included--hard case and extra strings.

    Quality:
The fret markers could be better, otherwise, I have no complaints.

    Value:
Excellent value considering the great sound quality.

    Desirability:
The asethetic appeal of the mahogany top seems to cause you to either love or hate the appearance of this guitar. However, even if you hate the looks, the sound quality and the price will make you love it.

    Sound:
This is clearly one the strongest aspects of this guitar...it sounds great.

    Feature:
The wood selected gives it a nice, rich, deep tone that will improve with age.

    Quality:
Very well made. A steal for the money. An all wood guitar for this price and the guitar sounds great.

    Value:
Product is priced way below value. I love this guitar.

    Desirability:
No frills in looks but I like the basic look so it's okay by me.

    Ease of Use:
    Very playable, action is fine.

    Support:
Martin's support was great, though I only used it once. They were on the ball and very helpful. Solved my problem and sent me 3 sets of strings pro bono.

Just a straight foward guitar, the "plain jane" look just adds to it's personality. It is a bit lightweight, not as tough as other guitars

    Quality:

    Desirability:
    See above

    Sound:

"A Wolf of a Guitar in Sheeps clothing!"

    Quality:
Fit and finish are excellent. No binding means the joining of the back, sides cand top must be stronger. The lack of gloss makes it understated. This is a musicians guitar. It looks like no frills and is, but it sounds expensive.

    Value:
    Absolutely worth the price.

    Desirability:
A wolf of a guitar in sheeps clothing.

    Sound:
Extremely rich and warm mello sound. If you were blind and had a heightened sense of hearing you would choose this over many others more expensive.

    Martin D15 Customer Review

    Sound:
the sound is phenomenal for rhythm and lead guitar. It has a perfect tone regardless what strings you use. The action on the fretboard is a dream....words cannot express. This guitar is good for virtually any style of music. This guitar sounds better than all the guitars my favorite musicians use. The D15 sounds beautiful alone and does wonders w/ other instruments. it's perfect for recording and for live performances.....need i say more? I can't think of any thing wrong w/ this incredible guitar. It weighs less than 5 lbs. the finish is immaculate and the list goes on and on and on and on.....

    "Cheaply made and Butt-Ugly"

    Feature:
This guitar is butt-ugly. I know that guitar manufacturers have somehow convinced most of you that $600 is chicken feed, but i expect a more attractively appointed guitar for this amount of money. It's plain dull "doo doo" brown with that ugly head stock and those spartan dots on the fingerboard, uggggh! pretty and sweet sounding are not mutually exclusive. Is it too much to ask for binding, inlay and a descent finish?

    Quality:
The guitar is cheaply made. Its sides are very thin. The finish is soft and feels as though it will easily rub off.

    Value:
This guitar sounds good, but it's ugly and structurally cheap ... so I can't in good conscious give it more than a three.

    Desirability:
This guitar looks like a turd. All it has going for it is the Martin name stamped on the headstock.

    Sound:
I have no issues with the sound quality of this guitar. It is a nice sounding bright acoustic guitar.

    Support:
    I haven't dealt with them.

    Overall:
I've already bought An Alvarez PD100. I'm trying to unload the Martin.
