Style of Music: Easy, country, popular,

Sound:

Full bodied mellow background compliments the sound of the strike notes. Great for solo playing.

Feature:

High quality. Tuners are substancial.

Absolutely no problems.

Value:

I paid $1,300 in 1985.

Style of Music: blues/jazz, fingerstyle, rhythm on a worship band, some acoustic lead, eclectic

"I'll never let it go."

Quality:

I'm having trouble with the body top and back binding coming loose. Two Martin luthiers have told me this is not uncommomn for D-35s, and that Martin will repair it under warranty. The only problem is I have to return it to the factory to do so, and I should expect 3-4 months turnaround timem to get it back.

Manufacturer Support:

I've had previous repair work done by authorized Martin shops - they stand behind their warranty. However, for some work the guitar needs to go back to the factory, and I'm told to expect 3-4 months for return.

Value:

I think its a good value. I bought mine new in 1987, I felt it was a fair price for such a great instrument.

Overall:

I will never give up this guitar. For rhythm work it can't be matched. I play more fingerstyle now, and while its not ideal for that style, it still performs adequately. The sound is superb, especially unplugged.

Style of Music: EVERYTHING

"perfect!!!"

Sound:

deep bass, with sweet highs

Feature:

beautiful... yet not flashy, the perfect guitar for anyone

Quality:

i own a 1969 d35 that i got from my dad and it sounds better than any other guitar i have ever heard or played in my life

Manufacturer Support:

the pick guard started coming up but martin's lifetime warranty fixed everything!!!

Value:

this is a give a way for a peice of art like this

Style of Music: Folk, Rock. Blues

"Own it for life"

Sound:

Can't beat the bottom end and surprisingly sweet up high too. The "boom" is one of the reasons Martins are unique. Bang on it like a rented mule and it just purrs and asks for more.

Feature:

Bought mine in 1974 so it does'nt have a truss bar so the neck eventually tweaked. However I had it repaired (neck re-set, new pick guard, new frets, neck binding and saddle re-glue) for free! The action is actually better now than when I bought it. Own it for a lifetime and play it for life - you'll never pay a penny for repairs.

Quality:

You get what you pay for. You can buy and sell lot's of guitars but when you buy a Martin you own an instrument for life. It's a classic.

Manufacturer Support:

They don't take them at the factory anymore but have a network of certified lutiers. In my case it took over 9 (yes 9) months to get it back.

Value:

You won't ever lose money buying one of these babies, But then again you will never sell it, so it really does'nt matter

The Wow Factor:

There are lots of high end custom axes out there, but you'll never be dised showing up with a Martin.

Overall:

30 years and counting. "I'd rather fight than switch!"

Ease of Use:

Martin action, ergo stiff. Reworked the action, same sound but Soooo much faster and easier to play.

Overall:

none finer, had it 20 years, look forward to the next twenty
