No strap post! Really no extras whatsoever accept great sound.
Quality:
This guitar feels in the high quality range. Very well constructed as all Martins. Interesting look with the Laminate. They could have hidden the head and neck laminate a little or not draw so much attention to it.
Value:
No doubt about price to quality and I can't say enough about price to sound.
Desirability:
Laminate neck and head are undesirable to me. The Spruce Top is nice and the back and sides are nice.
Sound:
You are definently entering the tonal quality of the higher end Taylors/Martins etc.. I give it an 8 only because I reserve 9 and 10 for your 1500.00 plus guitars. However, Sound to cost ratio is beyond belief. You can't touch any guitar in any line that is priced at 500 and sounds even close to the DX1. Exceptionally even and full bass to mid range with concise clearity. Mid to High Mid Good. High end (jingle/Jangle) doesn't have it, but projects adequately. You just are not going to find that even quality in all ranges without going Taylor.
Support:
Havent needed any
Overall:
I don't plan on getting rid of this guitar. Looking forward to keeping it for specific uses.

"Appropriate Pricing For An Adequate/Above Average Sound!"
Feature:Has "CF MARTIN & CO" On It... Silly Question.
Quality:
Very Sturdy Construction!
Value:
Worth The Common Asking Price Of Around $500, Definately!
Desirability:
Different Look.
Sound:
Great Tonal Bass! Adequate To Appealing Mid-Range. Though Less Than Desirable Treble/Tenor Tones...

"The best $500.00 Guitar in the Effing World"
Feature:Awesome spruce top, interesting fretboard, and the darn thing just smells nice.
Quality:
For the money--not much at all--it rules.
Value:
Worth the dough baby.
Desirability:
If you're on a budget (like me) this axe is for you.
Sound:
A little on the bass side but certainly not "boomy," the spruce top is very thin (I guess typical of Martin)and resonates quite well. I've heard recording Martins can be tricky, I had good luck pointing the mic more at the sound hole instead of at the 12th fret. Overall I'm quite pleases with the DX-1.
Support:
Hey, you can actually call MArtin and talk to a real live expert, try that with Takamine.
Overall:
The thing about Martin guits is that they get better with age and unless I'm signed to a major or hit the lottery or otherwise find a whole lot of somolians, the DX-1 will with me at the nursing home (or fry with me when the nukes fly)

I have to say, this is a great value. Best sounding guitar you can buy at this price point. However, be carefull and keep a close eye on the relative humidity in your home. This guitar seems more sensitive than other guitars i've owned. If it gets a little dry in your home, you'll begin to hear a fret buzz that gets a little anoying, then you need to adjust the action, which is not what i wanted to do since i liked it where it was to begin with. I own Gibsons and Ovations, and i still would rather play my cheap Martin

Quality:
No blemishes out of the box.

If it holds up over time (a few years or so), then it is the best value that I could find.
