"They made this guitar just for me!"

Feature:
Would have loved to have them throw in a hard case with the guitar but just had to buy one.

Quality:
My brother has a 1960's or 70's D18-12 that always was the guitar that I compared others to. I took this guitar with me on a visit and he was stunned that a guitar at this price had the same level of workmanship and quality as his old Martin. Not a scratch on the guitar, no discoloration, perfect!!

Value:
You will not find a better guitar at this price unless one of your relatives dies and leaves you one.

Desirability:
The name Martin spells class, very sexy. This particular instrument feels like it was custom made for me, sometimes I'll just sit there with it on my lap while I watch TV. From a practical standpoint I am a singer songwriter, I need an instrument that holds a tune, that is rich, and clear, this one does all that. The only way it could be sexier is if it were a much higher priced Martin. My opinion this model is the best of the "new" Martin designs and compares favorably with other Martins that are twice the price.

Sound:
Amazing sound. I sold a friend of mine a Joe Pass electric acoustic guitar and told myself it was time to splurge on another real acoustic guitar. Went to the store, played some Gibsons, Guilds, and Taylors that actually were higher priced. Picked up the DMXE and the first thing I thought was that sounds great!!!!

Support:
This may be the best part of the story of my DMXE. The original guitar I purchased was a beautiful one. Somehow the back popped off while I was playing it, just went boing and popped off. My heart was broken. This was my first Martin and I was afraid that I had made a mistake. I called Martin, they set up a pick up for the guitar. They brought it into the factory and determined that it was indeed a rare manufacturing problem and replaced the guitar with a brand new one. Get this, the original guitar had a grain cut on the neck that went up and down, the new one has a grain cut that goes horizontal, the feeling of this neck in your hand makes your fingers twitch. They got the guitar back to me within a week or two and I am impressed by their promptness, courtesy and the quality of the people that I spoke with. The rep I talked with there personally followed thru on the whole process of getting an evaluation and replacing the unit.

Overall:
This guitar will always be part of my collection. I have owned a lot of nice guitars but this is my first Martin. As far as searching for another product, I spend a lot of time on Martin's home page and Ebay looking for the next step up. The thing I like best is the feeling I get with this guitar in my hands, it makes me want to play. Right now I don't have anything I don't like about it.

"This was my first martin, definately worth every penny."

Feature:
Fishman EQ full range with a briliance.....What more could you ask for? Easy to change the battery

Quality:
One would think that a laminate guitar can't be that great of a sound or not look as good or maybe the construction isn't that great but THIS THING IS BULLETPROOF!!!!!! I'm not kidding either, you will not scratch this thing under normal circumstances i.e. bumping a mic stand, rubbing it across ya blue-jeans or whatever. My yamaha scratched the first day, I have played ten shows with this now and it still looks like the day I got it - except for one thing....the ring around the soundhole is a decal and you can nick it it with your pick. I can live with that though.

Value:
I had bought an ovation shallow body and took it back. I love my martin for 500 bucks, this guitar will probably last for 60-70 years because wood laminate is not prone to splitting, I hope the glue holds up.

Desirability:
Great shape, it doesn't look like a snow-shovel. Great color on the body, the neck is absolutely gorgeous, and your (my) hand slides very easily as well.

Sound:
This guitar has such a beautiful low-end bounce to it.... Every time you strike a full chord it just sounds so rich and beautiful.

Support:
Email martin with the right questions, they will give you the right answers. Or call them. Great people.

Overall:
I am gonna keep this one forever. But I wonder if they will do a cut-away model? Sign me up...

"big bang for bucks"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

Feature:
a fairly basic guitar with fishman electronics but it adds up to a nice sound and look. very Dylan-like.

Quality:
this guitar came right out of the box and i played the night away. after making the initial check for bumps and buzzing, it was perfectly set up. and the smell, i spent the first twenty minutes playing and smelling it at the same time. it bummed me out at first that it was built in mexico,(they said american made)but some internet research made it clear why.

Value:
this guitar is worth the price. it's a martin and craftsmanship holds true no matter where it's made.

Desirability:
i had enough with the cutaways and this full bodied gives me the retro look i'm looking for besides the great plugged in sound for a great price.

Sound:
i think this guitar has a great sound for being an hpl design. being an electric acoustic, it shines more when plugged in than not, a nice warm sound. i'm an acoustic solo act(folk/rock) and this guitar provides me with the sound i need. i am so glad that it's a full bodied model, i thought i was going to have to pay a chunk so i couldn't believe the quality i got at such a low price.

Ease of Use:
the neck on this guitar is fantastic. i have played a lot of higher priced martins and this is comparable. i base an acoustic off the open "F" chord and it plays nicely. my hands seem to float to the chords compared to my other acoustics. maybe it's that "martin magic mental monagram" that breeds ease of playing.

Support:
no support at this time.

Overall:
definetly a keeper and would replace it in a second. to find a martin at this price along with quality it's a no brainer.

"Delivering the Sweetness"

Feature:
Plastic shmastic. Doesn't crack even under extreme 'humidity' changes like the five thousand dollar guitars out there. Looks great, like the ease of playing on the wooden fretboard. The sideburn of a pickguard looks very nice as well. Aside from looking nice, it's a rock.

Quality:
Just wonder how it would sound with a soild top. Probably the same

Value:
For the money its awesome. Had a Yamaha and that was good but the DXME's much easier to play, looks and sounds better, and has the built-in pickup. Just hook it up baby

Desirability:
Keep it forever, might not get another acoustic. If I do, I'm keepin this one for sure.

Sound:
Luv it. SPeaks to the inner workings of my being. My soul rings whenever i play this guitar.
