"Costly amp head for the serious gigger, and kids with mommy and daddys money."
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Feature:
The only thing I don't like is you can only access 2 of the four sounds with the foot switch. The reverb is not as good as the holland amp.(all comp. should take notes from holland amps.)The reverb also has a seperate foot switch. This should be included on a 5 button foot control that Marshall does not offer for this model.
Quality:
Don't know, Only had the AMP and cab for a couple of weeks. But it seems well constructed and it is as heavy as a carload of fat girls goin to see Ricky Martin.
Value:
This amp is for serious Musicians and Punk kids whose mommy and daddy can afford the best for little Johnny.
Desirability:
Looks great behind you on stage, or sittin in the living room, makes a great focal point in the home.
Sound:
The tone is grreat with the 1960b cab. Ive read reviews that say the cabs with the 75w Celest. were no good, but I bet if you blindfolded the dumb asses they could'nt tell the diff. between any of the speakers they heard. This amp has great clean,od,and flat out scream power. I've been a fender man for 15 years and the clean sound just can't be matched, but with that said the overall tone versit. of this amp is tuff2beat. I've also played through Holland, Kendrick,Mesa. These guys are fine but there just tryin to get the tone of the early Marshalls and Fenders. The DSL 100 I have is a out of the box classic.

Overall:
versitile amp, dont get the lame modleing amps they only simulate at lower levels. They are great for the home hobby joe and some recording but this head puts out the sound, and if you try and compare it with the so called cab simulaters and modeling amps youre a moron. This head is in a class all alone.
