"Weird, Powerful, Sensitive, Fast, Agressive FM8 is great"
Sound:
sounds wicked scary when you need it to and generally over delivers on everything... you start getting those 8 voice *events* going and it gets fun
Feature:
if you have used an FM synth for real, or just a rack version, or only a software version, you will find this very complete and a very satisfying experience.
lush and luscious: it sounds great and scary-rich at the same time.
Ease of Use:
this is still fm so nothing too much taken for granted once you start editing, but overall it's like a playboy bunny of software synths come to life on your screen... I cannot say enough good things about how weird and coax-able this interface is when it comes to full on weird sXXt.
I give it an 8 because I don't have enough time to do this great product justice...
all FM tone module / rack mount Yamaha TX8anything-series should run and get this software.
somehow must save a grand for komplete2... fend off wife attack.
Quality:
sounds very, very dangerous when you want it to.
when you play it loud, over PA speakers, it will bring neighbors from three sides to your front door in 5 minutes.
the aggression and detuned-math-fatness of multi-op FM is still a working force... FM8 is proof that it can still simulate a plausible earthquake / insect attack in short order.
Value:
I haven't paid for it yet: am still running demo over and over.
obviously I have to buy new Komplete and kore2 bundle.
The Wow Factor:
FM voices of this power cannot be overstated, even though I'm a dork.
If you know how to program an FM box through a 1 or 2U rack display, then this is going to rock your world.
