"Best 500 bucks I ever spent."

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
Sounds are amazing, def proffessional. I've had it for a little over a month and have made several beats. Sampleling, and the new ability to host vst instruments and effects in the free 1.6 upgrade, available on the native Instruments website, give you limitless possibilities for sounds. I however have only used sounds from the 6 gig maschine library and still haven't even heard all of them, let alone used them.
    Feature:
More features than I can list, but my favorites are the built in effects, the ability to paint in individual sounds using your mouse, the quantize and quantize at 50 percent, and the arranger. Also the ability to control all of the different functions from the controller itself without using the mouse.
    Ease of Use:
If you are totally new to making beats, it can be a little difficult to learn, understandable when you consider all of the features. However, there are a bunch of video tutorials online that can be very helpful. If you purchase I would recommend signing up for Maschinetutorials.com. There is a 10 buck fee for 1 month access to this site, but the information available on it is priceless. The dudes who run the site are experts with the maschine, and are very good at teaching you how to use it. A must for beginners.
    Quality:
Very nice, metal chasis. The pads are nobs and buttons all have a good feel and great response. Couldn't ask for for a better quaility.
    Manufacturer Support:
The Native Instruments website is great. The forums are helpful and they respond to questions fairly quickly. They are constantly upgrading their software and the upgrades are free. The result is a product that gets better and better with age.
    Value:
If the price for this product only got you the software, it would compare equally with other beat making software programs in the same price range. Actually it would be better because other programs make you pay for ugrades. If it only included the controller, the situation would be the same. But here you get both. I can't express the value in words. Best bang for your buck, is an understatement for sure.
    The Wow Factor:
Very sexy, all of the lights and the two displays, are aestheticly pleasing. Will probably order a skin to cover it with, not because it isn't beautiful, just for protection.
    Overall:
It will last me a long long time. Nothing on the market so far can replace it, or even come close. Its the best thing for making beats. If you want to make beats, It has everything you need. You may want to use a midi keyboard with it to play chords. I was concerned that the pads would be insufficient for playing melodies and basslines. I was wrong. This is all you need to make proffessional sounding beats.

Native Instruments Maschine Groove Production Studio (Mac and Windows) Customer Review

    Sound:
Plenty of sounds to play with, and the ability to add all your custom sounds very easily. Most convenient library yet, which builds off that of Kore.
    Feature:
OMG..trying not to sound like a fanboy...but this is the official MPC killer. Has ALL of the features of the MPC..AND THEN SOME! The fact that it can be completely standalone and used as a plugins is great. Favors all major DAWs. I call it my Ableton-In-A-Box.
    Ease of Use:
Very easy, just got it today and I made 3 tracks. On the second track, I learned how to work without touching the mouse or keyboard, except to name tracks and export.
    Quality:
Made of metal, not cheap plastic. It is also thin and not a strain to carry. Buttons feel good, pads are great quality. I don't think there is a feature lacking yet. At least none that I need.
    Manufacturer Support:
NI support is OK at the most. But now I have less reasons to call them which is why they get decent score.
    Value:
This is under-priced. But I'm sure Native Instruments made sooo much money selling the Komplete Bundle that they've finally eased up with the pocket ripping. Good choice, which may indirectly kick Akai in the chin.
    The Wow Factor:
Gotta have this if you're an MPC user. My fantom x pads no longer satisfy me after getting this.
    Overall:
Add this to a Motif XS with Mlan and a Macbook then you have a complete high end studio. Believe me, thats all you need.

    "Don't fall for the hype!"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
The sounds are great..and there are a lot.
    Feature:
The hardware has great POTENTIAL features that integrate with the software...but unfortunately the software is HORRIBLE...especially in DAW. Check out the Native Instruments Forum...and DO NOT buy until the MIDI-IN issues are fixed. MIDI-IN does NOT exist and they say they don't plan on offering. This is a sad issue which is not truly realized until you start using in your DAW. It singlehandedly spoils the ENTIRE product. Did i mention no foot pedal support for the instruments??? SAD
    Ease of Use:
Its pretty easy to use in terms of browsing, assigning, and organizing samples. It all ends there.
    Quality:
The physical build is at its best in my experience. Its actually light weight, but strong metal. Much lighter than an MPC.
    Manufacturer Support:
FORGET ABOUT IT! THEY INSULT YOUR INTELLIGENCE! Some of the forum moderators even delete my postings of question that they could not answer. Imagine that!!
    Value:
In its current state, its worth the price of an Akai MPD32 or less. Its useless without the proper software and proper **MIDI** support.
    The Wow Factor:
I want them to make the necessary changes to create geniune demand...not marketing tactics.
    Overall:
Ok the sadder part is that I am the previous reviewer with the Fantom X..I bought my fantom back. They fooled me by introducing it with the their own sofware sequencer linked to the controller. It seems fun and intuitive and sounds great. However, when you need to use Logic, Ableton, ProTools, etc...I guarantee you will have a sharp change of heart. Beware! PS can someone delete my previous review?? Thanks!
