Native Instruments Maschine Groove Production Studio Customer Review

    Feature:
OMG..trying not to sound like a fanboy...but this is the official MPC killer. Has ALL of the features of the MPC..AND THEN SOME! The fact that it can be completely standalone and used as a plugins is great. Favors all major DAWs. I call it my Ableton-In-A-Box.

    Quality:
Made of metal, not cheap plastic. It is also thin and not a strain to carry. Buttons feel good, pads are great quality. I don't think there is a feature lacking yet. At least none that I need.

    Value:
This is under-priced. But I'm sure Native Instruments made sooo much money selling the Komplete Bundle that they've finally eased up with the pocket ripping. Good choice, which may indirectly kick Akai in the chin.

    Desirability:
Gotta have this if you're an MPC user. My fantom x pads no longer satisfy me after getting this.

    Sound:
Plenty of sounds to play with, and the ability to add all your custom sounds very easily. Most convenient library yet, which builds off that of Kore.

    Ease of Use:
Very easy, just got it today and I made 3 tracks. On the second track, I learned how to work without touching the mouse or keyboard, except to name tracks and export.

    Support:
NI support is OK at the most. But now I have less reasons to call them which is why they get decent score.

    Overall:
Add this to a Motif XS with Mlan and a Macbook then you have a complete high end studio. Believe me, thats all you need.

    "Don't fall for the hype!"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
The hardware has great POTENTIAL features that integrate with the software...but unfortunately the software is HORRIBLE...especially in DAW. Check out the Native Instruments Forum...and DO NOT buy until the MIDI-IN issues are fixed. MIDI-IN does NOT exist and they say they don't plan on offering. This is a sad issue which is not truly realized until you start using in your DAW. It singlehandedly spoils the ENTIRE product. Did i mention no foot pedal support for the instruments??? SAD

    Quality:
The physical build is at its best in my experience. Its actually light weight, but strong metal. Much lighter than an MPC.

    Value:
In its current state, its worth the price of an Akai MPD32 or less. Its useless without the proper software and proper **MIDI** support.

    Desirability:
I want them to make the necessary changes to create geniune demand...not marketing tactics.

    Sound:
The sounds are great..and there are a lot.

    Ease of Use:
Its pretty easy to use in terms of browsing, assigning, and organizing samples. It all ends there.

    Support:
FORGET ABOUT IT! THEY INSULT YOUR INTELLIGENCE! Some of the forum moderators even delete my postings of question that they could not answer. Imagine that!!

    Overall:
Ok the sadder part is that I am the previous reviewer with the Fantom X..I bought my fantom back. They fooled me by introducing it with the their own sofware sequencer linked to the controller. It seems fun and intuitive and sounds great. However, when you need to use Logic, Ableton, ProTools, etc...I guarantee you will have a sharp change of heart. Beware! PS can someone delete my previous review?? Thanks!
