Style of Music: Personally, I like oldies, but, will play what the customer asks for.
Experience: DJ 14years. KJ 4 years. Total of 18 years in the business.
Location: Stoneham,Ma. USA
"NUMARK'S "DOOMSDAY" MACHINE"
Feature:As far as karaoke is concerned, Numark could have included a digital key changer as well as built in video switching for the two video outputs. I had to install an external video switch on my "rig".
Quality:
I've had 3 units shipped to me since October of 2005. They all lasted 2-3 hours at most before developing identical problems. That says "volumes" about their QC not to mention the R&D departments as well. Last time I used it was at a Christmas party last year. After 2 or 3 hours ( it was supposed to be a 51/2 hour gig ) the unit, the second replacement, failed to read any discs in the left side tray. So, I had to refund a portion of my fee to the client. I was so upset, when I got home, removed it from my rig, packed it up and didn't even want to deal with NUMARK again. The beginning of this month I decided to contact them to get the problem resolved. The sent it back, played three songs, same problem. Sent it back again. Next I got a refurbished one as a replacement. After 42 minutes, same problem. I sent that back, and according to NUMARK, I'll be recieving a BRAND NEW CDN25+G. This will be the fourth unit. This will also be the last. I wrote to the CEO and informed him of my nightmare with his doomsday machine, can't wait to see what he has to say.
Value:
Sorry I bought it. No money is worth the aggravation and repeated returns to their repair facility. Ther're sending me one more, if that doesn't work like it should, I'm reguesting a full refund.
Desirability:
Middle of the road. I basically bought it based on their products that I owned prior, plus DJ friends of mine like their products also. I needed a player for Dj & KJ.
Ease of Use:
No bells or whistles. Just your basic two tray cd player with cd+g reading capabilities for karaoke purposes.
Support:
I have used Numark mixers in the past, but they should not have ventured into the karaoke loop until they knew what they were doing....and they don't. All units have been sent in for repair before exchanges were made, and the replacements had the same, for the most part, problems.
Overall:
I'm already "in search of" because due to my recent experience, I have no confidence that another unit will "miraculously" operate properly where the first three did not.
