"Beautiful Junk!"
Feature:The box it came in.Verey heavy duty.
Quality:
I bought the 6.5 steel and the6.5 brass sensitone elite each drum has the look of perfection. If only they sounded as good as they look. The steel drum has thebearing edge problem but the brass snare edges were fine.I believe the snare beds are made lousy on purpose so this beautiful drum won't be a great drum do to the price.Waiting on new Ludwig Supra-Phonic that cost 3X as much which is price of a correct snare bed which companies will not use onlower priced drums.
Value:
Yes
Desirability:
Beauty is only skin deep is oh so very true
Sound:
The sound is terrible .Mine came with 1 inch crimp marks around entire bearing edge of batter side.A definate manufacturing defect. My advice to all drummers is to take drum heads off their newly purchased kit and inspect for defects.
Support:
I've called Pearl several times they were easy to reach and friendly. They keep telling me I'll be given a return number so I can send the snare back for a new one .It's been three weeks and the matter is still up in the air.
Overall:
Waiting on a Ludwig
