"Accurate, fast, worth the $'s"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
I have several tuners, and this is by far the best! Much more accurate and significantly faster than all the others. It actually DOES make my Guild D55 sound much better. Watch out for the "Sweetened" tuning settings though. These only work for an acoustic guitar with proper intonation, which 99% of guitars don't have, even the $2500. variety like mine. The standard Chromatic setting (ECU) works great - the Acoustic Guitar setting (ECU) does not. Using this tuner and a Shubb Delux capo, tuning issues, even with a capo have been significantly minimized.
Feature:
Sweetened Tuning settings not explained well. Assumption is they will help, but reality is they help only if your guitar is perfectly intonated, which most are not. I would guess many buy this and automatically select the ACU sweetened tuning, and are disappointed with the product. Peterson should clearly explain what sweetened tunings are, that to use them your instrument must be properly and professionally intonated (i.e., bridge and nut modified!, and what proper intonation really is.
Ease of Use:
Takes an hour or so to initially learn how to use it, but it's well worth the effort.
Quality:
Other reviews indicate it is cheaply made - I don't agree. The "clamp" works well, and it is less likely to falling off after a minor bump than my other tuners.
Value:
More expensive than non strobe tuners, but definitely well worth it!!
The Wow Factor:
Technical marvel! Extremely effective (accurate, very fast and responsive), but the sweetened tuning option does not work on my guitars, since they are not perfectly intonated - never met a guitar that was!
