"SHREDTACULAR"
Feature:
Though i really do like the gold hardware...the tuners are pretty temperamental. They don't hold the tuning as long as i'd like. As well, the intonation is slightly off, but that can be fixed with a proper setup. The soldering seems fine, and it is generally well set up... however, i'm adding a Bigsby vibrato shortly.
Quality:
I really dislike the tuners. They don't hold up very well. Could be much MUCH better. Neck seems like it will warp easily. Set neck construction is pretty nice. Strong feeling chunk of wood.
Value:
GREAT guitar for shocking price.
Desirability:
It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The flame maple veneer really shines in good lighting, the sunburst finish really blames out the figure of the wood. I totally dig it. GOLD HARDWARE.
Sound:
For some reason, the bridge pickup sounds weaker. No worry, however, as i am swapping the pickups very soon. Very VERY smooth tone, and believe it or not, amazing for metal. Very thick and full-bodied, but excellent definition on the higher frequency range. Add a little chorus on clean, run through a reasonably well-sized amp (for bass response)...Unbelievable clean tone. Sparkly, almost. Sounds great in dropped tunings.
Ease of Use:
It's incredibly easy to get wondrous tone. I'm slightly shorter than your average teenage guitar player and i find that the control knobs are slightly awkward to reach. The fast neck allows for incredible control over sweep arpeggios and tremolo picking and the double cutaway body shape allows for reasonably easy access to the upper frets. Suggestion? DR Extra Life strings. the stock strings are very dead sounding.
Support:
I have yet to deal with them.
Overall:
I love it. If you're looking for a hollowbody at a reasonable price, don't even think twice. PLEASE for your sake, pick this bad-boy up.
