Peavey SP218 Subwoofer (2x18") Customer Review
Sound:
The Subs move air but dont have that 80hz punch that is needed compared to my EV Subs, if you drive anything below 40 they blat out.
Feature:
wheels make it easy to move but a hand cart works best, I like the rubber feet for stacking
Ease of Use:
EQ your sound and go
Quality:
The plastic covering tears with every move, You have to take off the bottom of the cabinet to replace the Speakers, I was forced to take down the whole PA durring a show to fix blown speakers, no easy front access
Manufacturer Support:
2 of the 18's failed, I couldnt get peavey to warrenty them for weeks, I had to complain over and over again. They fixed them after 3 weeks. well they sent me new backets I had to repair them myself. icould understand if I took out 2 18 in one box with over driving them but each Box had a failure
Value:
They are good for small clubs and local bands.
The Wow Factor:
Its a Box
Overall:
I bought 2 of the Peavey SP218 for a very good price,$550 this is the only reason I picked them up. for $300 more you can get the EV subs that are Louder and have more thump. and Better built,so You get what you pay for.
