Feature:
Preamps, preamps, preamps. After that I love the pass throughs.

Quality:
Very solid product. Sturdy. Has taken the abuse of not being in a permanent enclosure so it gets packed and unpacked alot. Would be even better if i rack mounted this with the sound board.

Value:
You can't get 8 channel recording anywhere for this price point.

Desirability:
I won't give this little device up. Even when I'm not recording with the band I love working with it at home laying down individual tracks.

Sound:
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sound this product produces. Having built-in preamps really enabled me to tweak settings just right. I was surprised (and this isn't Presonus fault) and the weak signals my sound board provided to the firepod. I quickly decided to go direct line in instead of through the mixer board first.

Ease of Use:
On the Mac this was literally plug and play. I unpacked, plugged it in and Garageband instantly recognized it. It simply doesn't get easier than this.

Support:
The best support is support you never need. I've never had to call anyone on this product. What I have done is gone online to read about its use and there are numerous places you can go to get ideas.

Overall:
I'll be satisfied until someone gives me the means to record 16 or 24 tracks at this price point with the same quality results.

Support:
I don't know. Haven't every needed support with a Presonus product.

Overall:
I've used many recorders, including 4 and 8 track cassettes, digital workstations, etc, but the Presonus which I recently bought was the first time I'd ever done any computer based recording. We (Book of Proles) had our first session yesterday and I was nervous about operating the system. Not to worry. Everything went exceptionally well (except I deleted two songs accidentally). It was so easy none of us could believe it. And we were all STUNNED by the quality of the recordings on the playbacks. I'm using a G5 iMac with 1 GB ram (but should have 2GB) and things couldn't have been smoother. I HIGHLY recommend the Firepod. I've heard complaints about Presonus products before, but I've never had anything but great experiences with them. I suppose my only negative would be that the gain knobs could be a little sturdier but take care of your gear and it won't be a problem. Oh...thought the Cubase LE was pretty fab too. Heck, it made using a digital workstation seem like rocket science it was so easy and intuitive.
