Top Quality sounding mixes that translate to your cd's and mp3's.
The most included features and plug-ins you will find in any DAW program.
Ease of Use:
Any DAW program requires time to learn, and Presonus SOv2 does to. But this program is very easy to figure out, and the free on-line how to videos really help you to get comfortable with the program.
Great program, loaded right up and works very well.
have not needed any tech support, but the on-line tutorials are excellent.
best value of any DAW program.
The Wow Factor:
"WOW" is what you will say when you hear how good your mixes sound and how easy it was to get them to sound that way
Ok, I am not going to write a huge long winded review, but I could because this product is that good. I have done home recording, live performance, and live sound mixing for over 2 decades. I have some experience with the good, the bad, and the ugly. This program is "the good". It is easy to learn how to use. It is easy to setup recording sessions. It has TONS of plugins that are included at no extra cost, (unlike Protools). It has a mastering section in the program, (unlike Protools). It has the ability to upload your cd project directly to a publisher like Cd Baby, (hello Protools..? Is anyone there..?) Now, I am sure the Protools program they are selling now is better than the older version I was using, but when I went to upgrade I found the Presonus SOv2 was less money. I have always had very good experiences with Presonus products, so I downloaded the free trial version of Studio One version 2. The ONLY thing that I didn't like was that I could not save my mixes until I bought the program..! Add the fact that you get a version of Melodyne pitch correction software which can be used as a plugin for SOv2, (something PT has never thought of doing), and this program was a no brainer for me. One other thing I have to tell you. I am currently remixing a friends cd that was recorded and mixed last year using PT. The remixes of the songs using the ORIGINAL audio files are so much more sonically clear sounding that the only way I can compare them is to say the PT mixes sound like the SOv2 mixes would if you listened to them with cotton stuffed in both ears..! I was well aware that the quality of a recording was dependent on the quality of the microphones and the recording interface. I did not realize what a difference the DAW software could make in the mixes, but Presonus SOv2 has clearly illustrated that to me. Finally, don't take my word for it. Download the free trial version and spend the time it takes to get to know the program. It might just be the best investment you could make in your home studio..!
