QSC RMX 1850HD Customer Review

Quality:
The fan is too noisy. I don't like the way its speakon's position. It's too tight and hard to unplug with out scratching your hand few times. Why don't they put those on both side of the banana plugs? there will be more room for unplugging. I didn't feel any heat warming when I ran at 80% power and running for 3 hours (the outside temp was in 50s)

Value:
its price is fair compare with other amp. $ for the quality. Its damping rate is above avarage, it THD is low that gives it a better quality for the $ I paid for.

Sound:
The sound is great for the $. I found it'd sound better when I ran with 4 speakers (2 pairs, 4 ohm total) When I ran with a pair of 8ohm speaker, the sound is lack of power punching. I didn't try it with 2ohm. I used it in a 300-seat auditorium with 4 speakers (2 channels) in additional with a Madison PA8300 to drive a single sub and the stage monitors. I didn't even need to use more than %75 of the power(it's not rock music)

Feature:
It's a power amp, right? The basic features are all there, although some of the functions (50Hz filter, for example) would be handier if the switches were easier to get to. I REALLY do wish the fan was a variable speed design to reduce noise.

Quality:
No problems with the amp. It just keeps on working.

Value:
I think that, for the money, the performance of this amplifier qualifies it for the "good buy" category.

Desirability:
Ummmm, 'sexy' is NOT the term I would use to describe its appearance. It is more like my old pickup truck - not very flashy, perhaps lacking some of the bells and whistles, but keeps on getting the job done with minimal fuss.

Sound:
Sound quality is very good. I used it with a pair of Electro-Voice Eliminator_i speakers and had no trouble filling a good-sized auditorium with clean sound. Plenty of power from this amplifier.

Support:
No need to use it (so far), so I can't really say.

Overall:
I would say that anyone wanting to pick a good medium-wattage power amplifier for a reasonable amount of money will not go wrong with this one.
