"THE QWiK-TUNE QT-11 Automatic Guitar Tuner"
Feature:The product came with batteries which was nice. The most useful feature is the ability to plug an electric guitar directly into it which by-passes the built in mic allowing tuning to be performed even in the most noising enviroments, and you don't need an amp or any other power source to do this. The built in Mic is also very handy for acoustic guitars. The least useful feature of the QT-11 I found was the electronic pitch pipe. It sounded too electronic, and I could not use it to set my E string, and finally had to use a recording on a web site to get started.
Quality:
The QT-11 appears to be well made. With its small light compact size I rate the QT-11 suitable for on the road use. The only possible problem I see with the QT-11 is that it does not have a light so it could be used in low light conditions.
Value:
Yes
Desirability:
The QT-11's small compact size, price and features make it one of those must have things.
Sound:
The built in electronic pitch pipe is nice, but as a newbie, it was difficult for me to use since my ears have not been trained, but it was helpful, and certainly better than my pitch pipe. I did however have to use a web site with an actual recording of an E string being played before I could get started with actually tuning my guitar. This product would be much better if it had an actual recording of each string being played, and a ear phone jack so you could have the option of using a nice pair of head phones to better hear the tone.
Support:
The company that makes the QT-11 has a good rep in the industry. They provide a number you can easily call them at if you have any problems.
Overall:
Its ease of use is what sold it for me over other products. Other features would be nice, but for what you get for the price, it is a good value. Yes I would replace it if it was lost or stolen. I just wish I knew of it sooner before I bought it. The thing I like most is its ability to plug directly into an electric guitar without needing anything else. The think I like the least about it, is it needs a better sounding pitch pipe, and a light.
