"MONO output only"

Overall:
Be warned, this product claims to be "stereo", but it is not. The output on the headphone jacks is mono - the same signal goes to both left and right. Feeding a stereo input into the 1/4" stereo input will not give you the same thing on the output - the left and right channels are merged into a single, mono output! There is even a jumper on the side of the case that supposedly toggles its function between mono and stereo. All this does is add the right channel input into the resulting MONO output (jumpered for "stereo") or include only the left channel input in the MONO output. The documentation for this product is totally misleading. This cannot act as a stereo headphone amplifier.

"Personal Amplifier"

Feature:
The fact that it doesn't include an AC adapter is troublesome. You have to buy one seperately, or else deal with a really funky battery installation (it takes a 9-volt battery).

Quality:
The unit is metalic and has a very solid feel to it. After about 2 years of use one of the headphone jacks gives me a little trouble (have to wiggle the cord in a little bit), but other than that its fine. And there's a second headphone jack anyways that I can easily double with a y-adapter if I ever needed someone else to hear the mix.

Value:
This is a pretty unique item for what it does, and that surprises me. However, I bought it for $100 2 years ago, and now its $50.

Desirability:
It is a must have if you do vocal recordings.

Sound:
All it does is simple amplification, and mixing, so it sounds as good as your mic/sound system. The xlr passthrough works flawlessly - no degredation in sound.

Support:
Never used support.

Overall:
This improved the level of my recordings ten-fold by giving me control of hearing myself as I record. It is a musthave for musicians.
