"Any comparison between the vintage Rogers and the new Rogers is a total waste of time. Yamaha should be ashamed of what they are"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
I can not believe that Yamaha thinks this line does Rogers drums justice. This is nothing more than a cheap beginner kit made in one of the Asian factories and labeled Rogers. Anyone who knows anything about the history, quality and sound of vintage Rogers drums could hardly label the new Rogers anything more than plain junk. If Yamaha's intention is to kill of the Rogers name for good they are sure on the right track. This is just a shame.
    Feature:
The cymbal stands are not bad for Asian market stuff. The pedals are low end and wouldn't have much of a chance in a real working environment. The stock heads are cheesy and dead. The materials used in the drums looks like polar or Philippine mahogany laminate that is typical of promotional cheap drums. The hardware is low end cast for the most part. This is the kind of low end stuff you would give a child.
    Ease of Use:
The bass drum pedal has zero balance with no reasonable way to get there. The high hat movement is jerky. The stand won't last. The bass mounted tom hardware is low end will require constant adjustment and tightening. You would have to replace every head on this kit to even begin getting any decent sounds and whether or not the drums will hold a tune for any length of time is questionable given the quality of the lugs
    Quality:
As far as I am concerned calling this kit Rogers is like trying to pass off a KIA as a Rolls Royce. There isn't a pro drummer in his right mind who would be casught owning this junk.
    Manufacturer Support:
    I have not contacted support
    Value:
$300 - 350 would be the right price for a kiddie kit. I don't believe it could survive serious playing or gigging
    The Wow Factor:
As far as I am concerned this New line of "Rogers" drums is the disappointment of the decade. What were those jokers smoking at Yamaha anyway.
    Overall:
If I had my choice of drums in this quality and price range I would pass. No one who knows vintage Rogers would have anything other than disappointment in this line. This is sad.

"Those In The Know, KNOW !"

    Sound:
It's sad to say the least . After being use to the "sound" that Rogers has made over the years of long ago and to try to duplicate it now makes me want to just cry. I admire Yamaha for trying to bring back the name, but for ols school drummers like myself that have played & own original Rogers drums, some things just cannot be duplicated.
