"Great sound from a small, battery-powered amp/speaker."
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
I bought this small, street-type amp so that I can rehearse and perhaps perform vocal music, both solo and duets in very small venues. For this purpose the Cube Street is ideal. The sound quality is very clean and clear, and the volume is certainly adequate. That there are two separate channels makes it easy to balance a duet vocal performance properly.
Feature:
This unit can accommodate two mics (one XLR, one 1/4" plug), with separate volume, EQ, and reverb controls. The unit is small and light, and can operate on battery power (AA type) for increased portability. It includes an auxiliary input so I can attach an iPod or other unit that can provide recorded instrumental backing for vocals. The only feature it lacks that I wish it had was an option to use phantom power for condenser mics. I can still use one if I use my own add-on phantom power box.
Ease of Use:
It's very easy to use. The manual is clear, but is not all that necessary.
Quality:
I haven't had the amp that long, but it seems solid and well-made. I am not likely to use the unit "hard," so I expect it to last a long time.
The Wow Factor:
I think the Cube Street is very stylish and cute. It's small and unobtrusive, and yet has a "big" sound. I like its looks.
Overall:
My needs are simple and I am not the most demanding potential user, but this product has proven to be a terrific investment, particularly considering its low price.
