"Brainstorm before you buy."
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Feature:
This board has the best interface over the Triton and Motif. Well organized and responsive. The drum-pad feature is the original idea of the MV8000. So basically if you get this, you have the Mv8000 without the 80gigs of storage and cdROM drive. Oh yeah, and thats what roland was missing with this...the CD drive. But alteast it imports and exports wav files via USB.
Quality:
I own the 88key and I'm very skeptical about the buttom of the board which sees to be some kind of compressed wood. There may be metal under, but i shouldn't really have to question something like that.
Value:
I must say the price is fair compared to the Triton Studio. I paid less than current listings because Roland wanted to see how much the public would atually like it.
Desirability:
Very sexy, not as much as the Neko64, but for is weight division, its among the top 3.
Sound:
BEST GUITAR SIMLUTED SOUNDS!!! The synth sounds are controverial because the sound is sooooo crisp that it doen't blend well in multitrack sessions in a studio. BUT for live performances, it rocks the show.
Support:
Never had to wait more than 5 minutes.
Overall:
Eventually i purchased the Motif ES8 because, in contrast with the Fantom, they both fill in each other's gaps. I would recommend you buy both, or get the Motif Rack. The Fantom's graphic interface will be the most pleasant you come across other than the V-Synth.
