"Superb sound quality. Great price"
Feature:+++ USB connection to download midi songs and styles +++ Styles with drums, drums+ bass, combo & full band gives good arrangement control with intro, main+variation & ending +++ simple large clear display ++ ability to edit voices with synth and save as user voices ++ ability to save entire keyboard settings as a song performance ++ D beam is great feature..thought it was a gimmick but i include it often A $200 yam keyboard has more "features" but honestly they are primarily gimmicks.. There is nothing here i dont need/want and nothing NOT here that I would expect at this price.. Nope this does not have built-in speakers....but at this price would they be any good if they were there?..nope.
Quality:
Well packaged, strongly made, lit buttons a great help.
Value:
Well, it sounds 10x better than a $200 yam but its only 3.5x price :)
Desirability:
musta want it..bought it. ok fine..color of display is cool.
Sound:
I gave this a 10 based upon its price... Nope the sounds are lacking compared to the fantom, but it aint $2k and honestly, once i got it home, quit comparing it to something i cannot afford, and listened in isolation through a pair of KRK V4 studio monitors the sounds are simply great. The piano is easy & natural, the tenor sax is breathtaking, choirs are airy and organs are decent. drums, bass..all excellent. The sound quality of this is a transcendental leap over comsumer keyboards.
Ease of Use:
SImple and intuitive interface.. it was over an hour before i even opened the manual (to setup the d-beam).. at which time i had already setup an arrangement, dual voices, split the keyboard and played a song. For comparison on this topic, at the store i tried the Korg PA50 but gave up after 10mins in disgust after being unable to even get a style playing..
Support:
no idea.. bought based upon perceived quality of roland products and sound quality & features
Overall:
For a musician or anyone with a decent ear looking for an inexpensive keyboard this, and the E09 are the only ones that have anything approaching a decent sound quality. For me, the extra $150 buys a lot.. specifically the ability to download midisongs and play -1, and create & download new styles.. This means the keyboard experience will always be fresh. There are almost no products in this class....great sounding flexible arranger... its going to be sad if i ever look for an upgrade.. up the sound quality and add a flexible arpeggiator and style editor and i would be game
