"Keyboard burned out long before it had a chance to fade away."

Quality:

I purchased the keyboard for my son for Christmas ’08. Purchase price was approximately $1,200 plus tax. He went to turn it on several weeks ago and a puff of smoke came out the back. I took it in to a local repair shop for an estimate and was just told that two circuit boards burned out and the cost of the replacement boards alone was $900. I would have hoped that such an expensive piece of equipment would have lasted just a bit longer. I have a number of computers that are considerably older than that.
