"Great piece of hardware for a great price"

Feature:
In my opinion this unit has great features.It is a good audio interface, nice mic preamp, top notch sounds, a nice sequencer and the ability to upgrade via SRX cards.The Fantom XR should have taken a cue from the SonicCell.

Quality:
the quality is pretty solid.the unit is made out of metal and seems pretty solid.The knob feels a little cheap-o but that's me nitpicking.

Value:
In my opinion the value was great.I got Fantom X quality sounds in a portable unit for about $500 cheaper than an XR unit.Also functions as a audio/midi interface so you could have a great portable setup with this and a laptop.

Desirability:
For those that want fantom sounds without breaking the bank this is a great alternative.I mainly bought this because I didnt want to lug around my X61 and instead i can bring this, my laptop and an oxygen controller and I am set.It is a sexy little unit with a very nice LCD that has a black background but white pixels instead.Something that keyboard manufactures should consider instead of the green screens.

Sound:
The sound is great, very very crisp.I wish it had SPDIF out but with some nice cables you wont really notice the difference.the presets are great and the built in effects as well.The sounds sound just like the Fantom and some even better, and yes I own a Fantom.I bought this for use with my laptop and it is top notch.

Ease of Use:
If you use this as your audio interface it is a snap.I already had an audio interface and couldn't figure out how to get the sounds to my DAW but one call to customer support and I was working this baby out.A little patience and time is needed just like with ALL EQUIPMENT

Support:
Couldn't figure out how to get the sound from the SonicCell to my DAW. made one phone call and a rep helped me out step by step.If you need immediate assistance make the call stop emailing!

Overall:
Very good piece of hardware.It has top notch quality sounds,the sound editor and sequencer is great, and it's build is nice.A bit difficult to understand at first but with a little time you will find this piece of equipment very useful and valuable.

Hi, I bought it - Owned it - and returned it! Over priced. Tec Support somewhat pie in the sky and wants to move you right along. Not as easy to use as the ad's say. Software glitches. Owners at the forums seem to be suffering for the most part. Nice concept - just not ready for prime time. Sounds are not worth the eight hundred dollars. Prices are already dropping. I'm surprised at Roland. It just looks slick and new. I returned it today and ordered The Ketron Sd2. I should have done that first. I just want to play. Not spent 40 days trying to make a piece of equiptment keep it promise.

Not very easy, technical support is non existant, have been waiting two weeks for answers but being totally ignored. Plenty of excuses and told to wait.
