"Get one you will love it ...add it to your kit or just play it as it is."
Feature:The mounting bracket didn't come with it....which was abit of a headache
Quality:
Np Blemishes..I would keep it away from other drum hardwear so it doesn't get knocked around but like anything else you have to take care of it. so far I haven't needed a back up it seem like it will last a long time given you take care of it.....Don't drop it.
Value:
I think it's worth it's price.
Desirability:
It's a practical addition to my kit.
Sound:
I play in a dance band that play's everything from Elvis to Cameo to Morris Day and the time and I love the SPD-S it works well with my acoustic kit.
Support:

Overall:
I will keep SPD-S till Roland comes out somthing better. A friend had one and I heard some of the samples in it and had to have one....we as musician buy alot of gear in our quest for the right sound and look...this was a good add on to my kit.

"A quality sampler and percussion pad in one unit? Its a no brainer!"
Feature:Software or higher-end hardware samplers have way more features, but also cost a lot more. Still, they could have included a few more advanced sampler features for the price of this unit. The sample import and export feature takes the place of some of those features. More than 1 trigger input would have been nice. Stick the features of the Roland SPD-20 into this unit and add a sequencer and I would say it had everything. The smaller size is welcome.
Quality:
Plastic and rubber construction. Buy a case for the unit. A laptop computer case works good for a soft case. A custom hard case wouldn't hurt either.
Value:
A quality sampler and percussion pad in one unit? Its a no brainer! It could have included a few more features for the money, but there's nothing else like it.
Desirability:
How cool is it to have any sound available on-stage? I can tell you its awesome! Our cover band uses this unit to fill in keyboard and percussion riffs that we don't have band members for. Its like another band member, but it never complains, gets tired, or wants to be paid.
Sound:
The sounds included are mediocre. They beauty of this unit is that you're not stuck with them though! I sample sounds from my Roland SPD-20 onto this unit and get the best of both worlds.
Support:
Never had a problem.
Overall:
I don't think I will ever get rid of this unit. If it was lost I would morn for an appropriate amount of time and then buy another one or an updated model if they come up with one. On a side note, we made an external trigger carpet that we connected into the unit to set off scary sounds on Halloween when kids walked over the carpet, so its lots of fun for everyone.

"Great Spd-S Unique"
Feature:Spd-s have internal memory, you will not lose any of your samples when you switch the spd-s to off. The Spd-s have near 16MB Internal of memory and keep them in memory even power off. Spd-s will not use any ram or need hardisk like all typical sampler! The Spd-s works with Compact flash card to expand the time for the sampling. You can sample to the compact flash card or in internal spd-s memory, you can also imports/exports any 16 bits 44.1kHz *.Wav *.AIFF, from your computer to the compact flash card, then inserted the card to the spd-s, up to 1000 sound with internal and compact flash card. Quality:
The unit is robust and I did not have any problems since I have it. Pads are responsive and very road worthy.
Value:
Compared to all others samplers that's you have to buy hardisk, or have limited hardisk space, require external ram, sample that's are erased from the memory when you turn the unit to off, and all others stuff you want to add, it is cheap. Trigger pad that samples is unique.
Sound:
The built in sound are basic, the best sound I have found are only the percussion and the loops, all others sound like snare, bass drum, toms are not very basic. Because you can imports any *.wav and *.aiff format sample and exports them to a PC computer, it`s not really a problems in this area. It cam with a cd-rom that`s include many loops and sounds. The sound are clear but do not sound great, it's not about hiss or noise at all, the unit "quality sounding" is great for sure!
Overall:
I can be a good drum set replacement, if you have the right sample for the units, this units is SPECIALY a VERY good additional tool to add to an acoustic set and triger your own sample effectx, loops or any things related to sound, also a good additional to a Vdrum set type.
