Experience: Active, gigging drummer

"Disappointing"

Sound:

A lot of "hyp" has surrounded the release of this much anticipated expansion card for the TD20. The new sounds however are only marginally better than the original Roland TD20 sounds and nowhere near as good as those currently available from V Expressions. The VEX kits have been arround for quite a while now so my expectations were that the new Roland sounds would be at least as good if not better then VEX. (Perhaps Roland are now abandonning top flight sound development in favour of third party developers).

Ease of Use:

The new functionality of the card is great however but the accompanying user manual falls way short of a decent insight into how to use the backup and other functions.

Value:

I bit over priced I think.

"Rip off"

Sound:

Sounds like the TD20 with no big improvements

Feature:

Better playability and dynamics for the hihat - I think this should be released for owners of the TD20 as a free firmware update and not as an addon which costs more than a TD6. Most of the changes are really big improvements, all in all it looks like a rip off.

Ease of Use:

Like they say - easy to install *lol* but: Not easy to uninstall! In fact, it is not possible to uninstall the module. This sucks.
