"Great Job Roland!"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
Very happy with the the recordings I have created. You get exactly what you record with no noise - plenty good enough to make your own CDs for distribution.
Feature:
High quality pre-amps and a easy to setup digital mixer. It comes with heavy duty brackets for rack mounting. The critical circuits are isolated so as not to induce noise and comes with both Hi-Z and Lo-Z inputs along with 48 volt phantom power. It bundles with Cakewalk Sonar LE but works without a hitch with Reaper. If you are using a Mac, you will need to get your own DAW software.
Ease of Use:
The OCTA-CAPTURE is easy to use and set-up. As with all recording hardware, the toughest part is learning the software. I am a novice but the manual is strait forward and easy to comprehend.
Quality:
Extremely well made - no cheap knobs or buttons. The recorded sound is more than what is needed to produce high quality compact discs. The unit is very stable and doesn't seem to be a resource hog. I even recorded with it on an old laptop and had no problems.
Manufacturer Support:
Have not had to use them yet.
Value:
Well worth the price for all the features and the ability to record a full garage band. It also came with a free upgrade to Cakewalk Sonar X1 Studio. I got a great deal through Sameday Music. Don't be afraid to call them and ask for a lower price than what you see advertised elsewhere.
The Wow Factor:
This piece of hardware will do up to 24 bit/192Khz recordings. I keep my settings on 24 bit/96Khz and the result is awesome!
Overall:
This unit will render high quality recordings of your creative ambitions. So far, I have no found anything I don't like about it. The driver loaded just fine and the device shows up in Control Panel on Windows. A Mac driver is also supplied.
